I can't stand Mike Leach, and wanted Kiffin from the point it became obvious that we weren't getting Butch or gruden.

I still think the Boyd thing was a mistake, but that has a lot to do with the fact that our current quarterbacks don't exactly inspire a lot of confidence.

But... that's my opinion and I'm not going to be hung up on it, other than to say that I've seen Boyd play, and he's a heck of a ballplayer.

So who is it you coach or scout for? Internet University? You have the ability to visualize a player playing against bigger, stronger and faster talent then in HS and can analyze Kiffins offense and determine he is a better fit then the creator himself? Kudos to you... Lets not forget the fact that Boyd will not be playing next year due to a knee injury so if he had came he would not be the starter and who is to say he will not be gun shy about taking a hit his sophmore year oh wait my bad I do not have a magic 8 ball or a crystal ball that tells me.

We know you can only give 25 per year but saving scholarships is saving scholarships. 85 total is LESS than 25 per year. So if you can't give out 25 to EVERY class, but you can give UP TO 25 in any given class, you need to be selective in determining who you gets these scarce resources. So, yes. He can "save" scholarships. Does that make sense?

Not really. The only reason to save scholarships, besides saving the university money, is if they have their eyes on some midterm enrolles for the next class that they are confident in getting. But a lot of things have to fall in place for it to work.

We can take mid-termers next January and back fill these scholarships. Alabama signed 33 a year or two ago.

That's not what I'm saying. My point is that because the 85 total cap, you can't dish out 25 EVERY year so some classes will have less scholarships to offer. That's my only point.

If Kiffin had taken Boyd with his pending surgery which will cause him to set next year on the bench, then the other coaches would have told the QB prospects next year that UT has a 5 star QB waiting to start. So why would you want to go to Tennessee?

Leaving Boyd to go to Clemson was a very smart move. As he said he wants to do it right and it will not be quick.

How many of those 33 are actually on scholarship? How many did not qualify or had to go the juco prep school route?
