'25 SC DB Onis Konanbanny (florida)

I am not worried about what is going on..Some of these guys who are going somewhere else may be doing it because we have replaced them with players who are more needed at the positions we were recruiting them. Our priorities change as the season plays out because the new guys turned out to be better than expected. I trust CJH to evaluate players and pick the ones who will help the team the most. I also realize that no-one ever gets every player they want. Recruiting just doesn't go that way. Just reflect on where we were when CJH arrived and where we are now on building our team. We just need to relax and be thankful for where are now. The best part is, we will continue getting better as we progress over the next 2-3 years. I will continue to keep my season ticket because of my love to the University of Tennessee and what I see in the future for all our athletic teams.l

Have fun getting torched by Nico my guy
he will not be on the field for Nico or maybe any other UT qb. This is not much of a lose. We do not need more projects. The portal already looks like an over load coming. Do not want to be here so be it.

I'll scream this until I'm blue in the face, but a kid who's been to Florida once in his entire life - 2 weeks before NSD - and then flips there is a) obviously doing it for a bigger bag, and therefore b) not a kid I am interested in having in our locker room.

He's a good prospect, even if developmental. But this recruitment is a joke.
If you are under the illusion any of these players aren't doing what they are doing for the money, you need to dissuade yourself of that illusion. Chances are Florida was willing to give him more than we were willing to. We walked away. that's just how this works.

Honestly most of these prospects who are international with limit football experience take several years to develop if they ever do. If they are bag chasing and in the NIL era he probably won't stick around more than the 3 years he will need.
We retain players we want to keep. This is just nonsense.

I mean I’m fine with this kid though. He flipped but he didnt lie about the staff or any nonsense.

It's 100% about getting more money. I'm sure if they thought he was worth it, spyre would have pony'd up. When programs struggle they have to overspend. If Onis thinks it's worth the risk to never playing for a championship, more power to him.

Not nonsense. A player sits 2 years on the bench as they learn the position and never get playing time. A low level school can come in and pay them to start. Players have always transferred for playing time.

Because that school is willing to pay them more than we are. It comes down to the almighty dollar. If we wanted to retain them, we could just pay more money and keep them. We are not having an issue retaining players we want to keep.

If any of you are feeling sorry for yourselves due to losing any of these guys we've lost, go to one of the LSU free boards and see what is happening over there. We are one of the beneficiaries of the new age of college football. There are way more have-nots in this era and we should keep that in mind. Of course if there are teams willing to pay more for a guy than we are willing to pay to keep them, there's probably a rational reason behind that. Many teams are over-investing in their HS recruiting classes only to lose experienced players from their roster that they wanted to keep. There has to be a balance and sometimes it's more beneficial to invest in the portal to land guys you have to do way less guessing about than it is to spend on a HS recruit.

That's what I was saying? I am indifferent that he's gone. I'm not going to wish him well. But if he's chasing money now he wasn't going to sit on the bench for 2+ years to develop.

I mean I’m sure we would love to get him but at a certain point you can spend that money and get a better option via the portal.

The Onis is on him, then.
