If the staff really wants him AND the kid wants to be a VOL then so be it. We already landed Poteat and it looks like we are gonna flip Merritt from Miami too. Both kids played much better competition in HS than Onis...who plays private school ball in the state of SC. He would not likely see the field in 25 or 26 honestly. It is what it is. At some point it comes down to how badly a guy wants to be a VOL. Get in the boat, or start swimming elsewhere IMO.

There is a lot of risk on the player by delaying signing. Suddenly they’re competing against high school signees and transfer classes.

Maybe this is just sour grapes, but it’s tough to start plying football in high school and be a major factor in college. Seen this movie too many times. We’d likely be better off adding another Jalen McMurray from the portal, let alone another Jermod McCoy,
