No doubt, physically he is what we are looking for. Just have to question why his offer list is what it is.

Maybe a bad team and doesn’t camp a lot? Like with Terrell Dawkins. Had crap offers then we throw in and now OSU follows suit.

That's fair but it's still early. Maybe he hasn't camped much? Not sure. But he does have offers from Tennessee, Mizzou and Purdue and many other smaller program offers. That's not terrible for April of his junior season. I'm betting his offer list will look a lot different over the next few months/fall/winter.

Just like the LB from NC who "is just a 3 star with not many big offers" and then bam he's offered by OSU and now "we gotta have him!"

To be fair, I'm not calling him a bad player. I just question our early pursuit when no one else of significance seems to be following suit. Maybe he blows at camps this summer or something. I'm not knocking the kid. Just questioning where he is on our board, and why, relative to our contemporaries who don't seem to be paying him much attention.

“it was great,” said robinson, who’s ranked by 247sports as the no. 1,067 overall prospect and no. 80 running back in the 2019 class. “it was most definitely a family feel, and what they’re building the whole team around is family. I like that a lot. That’s my main thing for when i choose my school, is having a family feel.

“the family feel is what really stands out to me. Everybody has facilities and stuff like that. And, of course, being in the sec, that’s great. But, really, what caught me was the family feel, out of the whole thing.”

“coach pruitt said i am a priority for him, and he said he just wanted to let me know that i’m family and they need me, and how i can be a part of this dynasty that they’re about to create,” robinson said. “and i’m perfect for their system. They want big, physical backs, and he said i can fulfill that. “actually, i really didn’t know too much about him (before the visit). But first impression was great. He was just humble and just a nice guy. He had a warm welcome.”

robinson said his aunt and uncle accompanied him on the trip to tennessee, and “they loved it," too. "my uncle, he’s a big gamecock fan, and he said that they have just won him over,” robinson said. “he said he’s with the orange and white now — not garnet and black.”

he said he “most definitely” is “going back to a game” at tennessee this season. But he expects to return to knoxville before then. “they want me to come to a (summer) camp so they can work with me, so i can see how they coach and they can see me actually move and do different drills and show them what i can do in person,” robinson said.

South carolina, north carolina, wake forest, middle tennessee and air force are among the other schools showing interest in robinson, he said. Offers are "starting to come” because of his strong showing last month at the carolina xposure camp, he said, and he previously flew a bit under the radar because he split carries as a junior. “we used all three backs, and i had a senior in front of me,” robinson said. With offers now starting to roll in, he said he’s hoping to decide on a college by "maybe the end of the summer or beginning of the season.”

Zykamren Robinson is penciled in to return to town next week, but the 3-star tailback from Spartanburg has heard a lot more from South Carolina lately and could be close to getting an offer from the home-state school. Robinson will camp at South Carolina on Friday and then return to Columbia with his family a week later.

Oct 19: Spartanburg running back Zykamren Robinson said Tennessee and Colorado State are the two schools he’s hearing the most from right now. He plans to take official visits to both. South Carolina had been recruiting him but he said he’s not hearing anything now from the Gamecocks. He did visit for the Georgia game but didn’t talk to any of the coaches.
Top Columbia recruit visited Gamecocks last weekend. Why he hasn’t had more visits

Don't know if he was hampered by an injury or what, but Robinson only rushed for 398 yards & 4 TDs on 74 carries this season (9 games).

I don’t know what the story is but I don’t like how he isn’t being recruited by uscjr. He’s in their back yard. Why don’t they want him?

He can't stay healthy. I saw him play in the 9th grade and he looked like a Marcus Lattimore / Feaster (Clemson) clone. That's the only game he played a full game against us in four years and they are our main rivals. His 10th grade year I think it was a hand or arm injury then his junior year I can't remember and this year his team went (3-8) and lost last week in the first round of the playoffs. He may have played a handful of plays in the game against us three weeks ago but not sure why. They had moved their backup qb to rb for that game and then last week based on highlights that I saw on tv. They lost to their one loss other (in town) rival and he had some key plays including a long pass he took to the house. I was under the impression by uscjr fans that they were recruiting him hard but the same people also thought they'd get Crouch.

I expected more of this after first seeing him play but it just never happened.
