Impact Analysis
“Braylon Staley is a prospect we have been high on at On3 for some time,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said. “I think you just start off with his athleticism. He is a very strong athlete and you can see that when watching his junior and sophomore film. You also see what he does on the track as well. I think he is a naturally bouncy runner, and when you look at his strides, and the way he separates on Friday nights. He is a state champion in the 200-meter and the triple jump, which is really fantastic. He is a guy that has a lot of athletic upside. Then you factor in as well that he is younger for the cycle. Just turned 17 in April, so he has a lot of positive factors going for him.

“His ability as a receiver, I come away impressed with how he comes down with difficult catches. You see him make one-handed grabs and diving catches. He fully extends and wins at the catch point. I think the combination of that and the ball skills he has is really impressive. He has a lot of things going for him. Just projecting Braylon Staley in Tennessee’s offense, I think he fits what Josh Heupel likes at receiver, and I think he is a guy if you split him out, he is going to win one-on-one matchups. He is a good athlete that can change direction, and he can win at the catch point. I think he will be a strong fit in Tennessee’s offense and brings a lot of vertical ability to the table.”
