That time would have been the 2nd fastest WR time at the NFL Combine last year. 5th fastest overall. Not buying him being that fast. The NFL record is 4.22
Guys that run those times usually could already run similar times in high school.
He's light in the body right now. And his track time supports that range of speed.
It's very likely that time is legit.

Plus his “4.36” was hand timed.
He’s probably a 4.45-4.5 type guy. Which is still actually pretty fast.
LOL. You’re gonna throw out Christian Coleman for your argument.Christian Coleman (UT track guy) ran 4.12 two years ago. But is he getting invited to the NFL combine? No.
Look, just because you don't have a high number of football players breaking 4.4 (truly) doesn't mean there aren't guys out there that can do it. Pretty much every men's 100 meter state qualifier in high school can run 4.4 probably.
There is an assortment of other skills that comes with playing football, and speed is just one of them. What I mean to say is, 4.36 in the grand scheme is not all that special. But it is "special" to the football players.
This Solomon kid is pulling away and outrunning angles on his tape like it's nothing. He's legit VERY fast. doesn't mean he'll ever get invited to the NFL combine one day. So you shouldn't gauge the lack of 4.3 guys at the NFL combine as a true measuring stick. They get invited because the have assorment of skills necessary to FOOTBALL.
You’ve really been struggling here lately.
Why on earth would Coleman get invited to the NFL combine? He doesn’t play football. What are you even talking about?
And if you aren't going to admit your logic is flawed, then don't even say anything.
You sidetracked the whole discussion.
You don't anything about how fast Solomon is. Well, guess what?
He's a Vol! Him and his 4.36 legit speed.
5 guys ran 4.36 or better at the NFL Combine last year.
Pretty elite speed, huh?
I’d be surprised if there is anyone on our entire team that can run a laser 4.36
CB and PR i thinkHas pretty good size. Is he going to be a DB or WR? Film was mostly DB from what I saw. Maybe get an opportunity at KR. I suspect we won't know for a couple of years, looks like a development type of player with a redshirt next season. We will find out more during spring practice.
I've been wrong before, so cheers.....
Coleman is a world class sprinter. He doesn’t play football. We have one now at least.
You keep going back to the combine times as reference as to why Solomon can't be 4.36 fast.
Coleman was the BEST example because he obliterated the 4.36 time with his 4.12.
So I then asked (because of his 4.12 speed) should he not be at the combine? Because YOU keep referencing the NFL combine as a barometer for speed...
Just because Solomon runs a 4.36 doesn't mean he will ever play a meaningful snap at CB. It just means he's fast...
Coleman is a world class sprinter. He doesn’t play football.
Using combine 40 times because they are legit laser timed 40’s run by, get this.... FOOTBALL players. You're talking about 40 times; more specifically, Solomon's 40 times being legit, or not.
It doesn't matter if he plays football or water polo...
Those guys at the combine are not just there for the 40. So why are you using it as a measuring stick?
You're wrong, dude...
Margaret Thatcher was better in the 3 cone iirc.Using combine 40 times because they are legit laser timed 40’s run by, get this.... FOOTBALL players.
His “4.36” was hand timed anyways.
What’s Usain Bolt’s 40 time?
How about Margaret Thatchers?
As long as we’re throwing out meaningless times that have nothing to do with UT a football player...
