His plane from California to Oxford will leave at 12:00pm. He is/was in his last class this morning and after that will be leaving. I dont know if this means he qualified.

If he was flying to knoxville and getting prepped for vol practices them most of us would care. However, he is no longer a Vol playing for a rival school. Where he goes is mute at this point. He had his chance here and blew it.

I feel the exact same way.

And people bash BS now, but they loved him when he was here.

Thought he was good early his freshman year. After he showed some of this intial spin moves that won big early everyone figured him out. He really didn't do much after that. Granted didn't get a chance to get in and get warmed up. Think his remaining years at Ole Miss will be average. We'll see. Hope he proves me wrong.

His last game was against south carolina and he created a spark which lead us to a win. I think he played a series in the cotton bowl but didnt do anything.

i dont understand how you can say he didnt do much after his early success.

One play where he connected. Kind of a luck pass really. Threw blind and hit right on the mark though. Got his collar bone broke on that play. Think he is good player but not great is all I am saying.

From another board:
==========================================

OXFORD — Quarterback Brent Schaeffer completed classes at the College of the Sequoias and has been admitted at Ole Miss, Schaeffer’s stepfather said today.

Adolph Lewis said his stepson, the Rebels’ projected starting quarterback this fall, finished his requirements at the California school and will report for preseason camp with the rest of the Rebels Thursday.

What the heck are you talking about? "Saved us from back to back losses to South Carolina?"

BS was NEVER any good for the Vols. I was scared to death when I saw him come in a game.

Name ONE time he ever did anything that would make him considered a "good" player. So he made 2 good plays his whole time here.

Outside of the UNLV game, you are close to right . . . although I think it was more like 10 good plays. He definitely provided a spark against SC with a couple of scrambles, the one long pass and the 2 pt conversion afterwards. People seem to forget though that as bad as he was in the first half, Ainge ended up throwing 3 TDs in that game.

So maybe I gave him alittle more credit than he deserved, but he did spark the whole comeback in the '04 USC game. He also suffered with the QB rotation. We never got to see his full potential.

He did. Got lucky on a throw off of his back foot while getting slammed into the ground. Sometimes its better to be luck then good. That sparked a good drive before the 1st half ended.

Don't get me wrong. Love the pass and partied all through the half. Looking back at his overall talent and achievements.. He's average. Then again Ainge was less then average last season. We'll see what both of our Freshman Young Guns do this season.

Schaeffer's problem was idiotic play calling. Every time he was put into the game, the first play was some sort of designed QB scramble. Which of course, when an athletic QB like BS comes into the game, you know the defenseive coordinator immediately tells his guys to watch for the QB to run. Thus, his first down runs usually resulted in a loss. That put them in a hole and just started off most of his series with negative momentum. I really think Schaeffer could have been good had we given him the right opportunities and adjusted our offense a little to accommodate his unique skills.. Honestly, his scrambling abilities alone would have probably gotten him some starts last year.
