When can we expect a Lady Vol basketball schedule? The UTC women (and men) have had their schedule out for a while.

Still finalizing TV schedule. The SEC controls both OOC and Conference games now, due to SEC network, so we are in a waiting stage. Shouldn't be much longer.

UTC
Rutgers
Texas
Penn State
ETSU
@Stanford
@Oregon State
@Notre Dame

Possibilities:
@Wichita State
MTSU

We play both Baylor & Duke in 2016/2017
La Tech was supposed to be on the schedule this season as a 2 for 1, but Tyler asked is to be pushed back until he could get better players. Holly obliged.

UNC dropped the series when Diamond left.
A series with UConn was about to be signed until Geno put his foot in his mouth twice, and Holly walked away. ESPN wanted this BAD!
Maryland (Brenda) has had bad blood with Tennessee since Candace, so that won't happen.
Oklahoma has said no repeatedly.

What happened with Candace?

Brenda continuously contacted Candace after she was enrolled at Tennessee trying to get her to transfer to Maryland. Pat put a stop to that REAL QUICK, and Brenda has badmouthed Tennessee since to anyone that will listen.

Am I the only one that wants Rutgers off the schedule?

Why does Oklahoma say no?

Rutgers was off the schedule and we put them back on because it's a long standing rivalry. They are a P5 team, and that helps RPI/SOS. Not to mention, they aren't a bad team.

No clue why Oklahoma, or a lot of others teams say no. If they wanted to play on national tv, they would play us.

Sheri Cole is a big Geno lover. Doesn't give Pat any credit whatsoever for saving her program

I liked when we played Arizona State, I thought their coach was class act. But I understand Oregon State coming to ranks would be a better team to play, plus it's nice to get back to 3 of our girls home state so they can play.

Ohio State, Florida State, and Louisville would be fantastic adds, but I understand Jeff is only worried about taking out UCONN.

why would you want them off the schedule ?

I think the rivalry is stale. Rutgers is no longer a F4 contender and even when they were, games against them were brutally ugly - and still are. That's ok up to a point, I like defense and don't mind too much. But it's gotten old.

On a more critical note, although Stringer has accomplished quite a lot and has endured while doing so, I think she was quick to play the victim card over the years. I can appreciate her friendship with Pat and admire what she's accomplished, but I'd just as soon see a new opponent on the schedule. Just my opinion.

I don't know about the former other than the ex-CT player she had on staff that was from Oklahoma, but as for the latter, I have personally heard Coale speak well of Pat and the Tennessee program. Maybe she's changed her tune, I don't know.

So we don't want to play a team unless they are a final four contender? How many years has it been since the Vols were at the final four? Maybe the reason all these teams don't want to play us any more is because they don't see us as a final four contender either. Times have changed since Pat led this team. We have to return to the final four before a lot of teams will take us seriously again. Results speak louder than words.

Summitt "saved" the Oklahoma program? That's a wild comment. How so?

Pat recommended Sherri for the Oklahoma job, when Oklahoma was close to disbanding their WBB program. Sherri saved the program, but she may not have been given the opportunity without Pat's recommendation.

Didn't she recommend Hatchell for UNC and the current coach for Miami? Both coaches refuses to schedule Tennessee. I understand that Hatchell is still salty, but I have no idea as to why Miami will not schedule Tennessee.
