Yeah, a big chunk of my mom's family is in central TN, and I played HS ball 2 years behind Ainge so started following UT in 2004.

What part of central Tn?

I usually refer to it as middle Tennessee.

What position did you play?

Sister and aunt lived in Mt Juliet for a long time, though my sister just moved to Virginia outside of DC recently. My grandparents, from Ohio, also own property in the area though I've never been and they were both struck with Alzheimer's two years ago so I'm not sure what's happening with their assets.

I rotated between Sam and DE. We ran a 44, which is a lot of fun to play in. Didn't finish my fourth year as our coach of 20 or 21 years left the program and I didn't get along too well with the new one.

Sorry to hear about your grandfolks.

Maybe it won't progress so fast or perhaps a cure will be found soon, Summit has brought a lot of attention to the condition.

My hs used a 4-4 defense part of the time.

The QB on my team went on to set the record for most wins by a hs coach in Tennessee.

Thanks. It set in pretty fast, though. My grandmother is coherent but doesn't recognize any of her family members anymore, and my grandfather is totally incoherent. He also has a series of malignant tumors and not much time left.

Am I reading this wrong or did GS pull a year old thread to say sorry about your grandfather?

i am sorry about your grandfather also but I just find it odd.

i only knew one of my blood grandparents. she died of cancer and hospice.

i was extremely close to her. she was left handed like myself. always said what she thought. yes i am this way in real life too.

she moved in with us during the last stages of her life and I still can't remember whether she died at our home or the hospital. I think i blocked the memory out due to it hurting so much.

oddly, my oldest daughter is left handed too and looks like her and acts like her.

 I hope not. Not where I got the handle from, but I read catch-22 a long while ago. I would think my actual real-life persona is anything but the heart of the soulless, profiteering side of capitalism.

I was referring more to your authoritarian leanings, just one this board of course, I kind of doubt you hold much of a position of authority in the real world.

Is there any chance we will ever get the PM feature back?

Gee, thanks.

Not that it counts for much, but I have been a manager before. Granted it was in computer retail and repair, but I did have people working underneath me nonetheless. Did well enough, but working in retail drains the lifeblood from you.

Will soon be working strength and conditioning with an FCS program and I have a friend trying to recruit me into youth coaching as well.

As for PM's, they won't be back in the foreseeable future.

I have people working under me all day long and I still love video games (need 4 more Crimson Ninroot's and can't find them dammit) and love old cartoons.

So from what 'milo' do you take your handle?

What is the real problem with the PMs?

I have only been spammed once, back soon after I first registered on this site and I PMed freak and he said it was a spammer and he was banned. From that encounter I would have known how to handle such PMs on my own but I haven't been spammed again anyway.

I highly recommend you taking the offer of youth coaching, I have done a lot of things in my life, other than raising a family and living to see grandchildren and enjoy their unconditional love, coaching in youth leagues is the most rewarding thing I've ever done.

As for management style, I found that gaining the trust and loyalty of those you manage and asking rather than telling them you want done gets the best results by far, FWIW.
