Woke up this morning with unbearable lower back and leg pain. Couldn't move at all, after taking about 30 minutes just to get out of bed went to ER. Doc said its pinched sciatic nerve. Worse pain I think I've ever had, laying in bed with heat pack on it and watching Netflix all day. Anyone had same issue and any tips?

I use a tens unit from CVS for my degenerative disk disease, may help with your sciatica.

I've been hit with it and it knocked me down for a week. More painful than any of my other injuries

No tips but I did switch to a front pocket wallet instead of the back pocket, Costanza-sized one and it really hasn't come back. Likely a coincidence but... :dunno:

I went through that about 4 years ago. I suggest walking more and 3 percocets, 2 Xanax, and 1 soma every hour on the hour.

It's a little bit better but not much...been applying heat pach every couple hours. Definitely going to get one of the massagers!

Electronic pulse massager. Also known as heaven. You can get one off of amazon for about 40 bucks.

I've got one. Man.... Invest in one.

Hated mine. Still in the storage cabinet where I put it after my knee surgery.

You definitely have my sympathy :hi:. Absolutely the worse pain I've ever experienced. Fwiw, ice pack worked better for me than a heating pad. Acupuncture worked for me after a Chiropractor made it worse. If you're a side sleeper use a pillow between your legs. Everybody is different but you get to the point where you'll try anything for some relief.

Sounds painful to me. Hope I don't have it when I get older. I wouldn't go to a chiropractor again if someone was holding a gun to my head. I would definitely try acupuncture, though.

Feel your pain. I went through about a month of that pain... had a muscle spasm that pinched the nerve. A lot of pain killers and for me soaking in a hot bathtub relieved some of the pain.

Went to the Back Pain Therapy facility in Ktown... worked with them for 3 weeks, and they used massage, electro, stretching methods and finally the muscle relaxed and pain went away immediately.

I would look for a therapy center and let them work on that pain... that pain is a 12 out of 10 for sure.

That's what I did and it extremely helped mine. Then like two weeks ago I was stupid and put it in my back pocket. Guess what is hurting again?

Wow! Is this pain on the same scale as a kidney stone?

Before I had back surgery, I couldn't stand for more than a few minutes without hip/leg pain because of sciatica nerve pain. I've never had a kidney stone, but if it's worse than that, then damn!!!

I've never passed a kidney stone thank God but I image a stone is far more painful from what I've heard it can imagine. This pain isn't constant but its pretty severe when it hits. Seems to be a little better this morning so far. Still a good excuse to lay around and watch football all day oh right? :)
