I wonder, if you're making rainclouds from sand dust particles does it rain mud?

Adam "pacman" Jones claims that "making it rain" in the desert is very much possible.

I can foresee real problems with this. 1). If you cool the deserts the worlds climate changes, the degree of the change, unknown. 2). People ie. corporations trying to make a profit and government interest including the Military will never accept only partial control as the ability to control the weather is force beyond any known money making enterprise or weapon. 3). Do they have the off switch?

I was wondering what potential climate effects getting rid of deserts could have. Would it completely change weather patterns? If you did this long enough would the weather start playing along on its own, or would you have to continually influence the weather?

Other countries mess with the climate = we need to be tolerant, it is their right.

We mess with the climate = we are destroying the earth.

It's doable, my wife did her thesis on the dust particles that are in the atmosphere over the Sahara, the actual tonnage and conditions, and correlated it to the intensity of hurricanes we get in the Gulf. It would seem with proper forecasting gear we could accurately gauge the hurricane season in the US.

What did the "double standard' have to do with the OP?

From what I read, it was an opinion, not a shot at the OP.

Nah, it was a shot at the OP. It had nothing to do with the thread, but they just wanted to ***** about the OP's responses in the global warming thread.

I guess they read the "Global Warming" thread. They (the 2 you responded to, other than me) didn't post in it, so all I have to go by what is in this one. Which lends me to think your imagination is working overtime.

Basically you disagreed with VNB and RV. Thats pretty much it.

I don't see how it's up for debate. I mean he specifically hit quote to reply. It's not a big deal, but let's face the facts.

They're messing around in a way that could be potentially harmful and have unrealized longterm consequences. At the least, they need to be very careful.
