That compounded with the fact we are playing at home leads me to believe we have a slight advantage in this game. Memphis is athletic enough to get a bunch of free points in random ways. The key to the game for us is just hitting open shots and specifically draining a few 3 pointers to push us over the edge. We won't win this one hitting 12% from 3.

If UT protects the ball and rebounds well on both ends, it's UT in a close one.

If they do one but not the other, Memphis runs away with it.

If they do both and someone gets hot from deep, Memphis loses big.

Memphis backcourt of Joe Jackson, Geron Johnson, Antonio Barton and Chris Crawford might be more than the Vols can handle. If the Vols can get Memphis in a half court game they stand a better chance of winning. Uptempo game will only embarass the Vols. McCrae and McBee are going to have to step up with their outside shooting. Golden is going to have to take care of the ball. It will be interesting to see how CCM makes adjustments.

Pastner is skeered of losing what may be his last game against UT and the team decides to stay home and forfeit the game.

Memphis is 0-3 vs Top 50 teams. Tennessee is 1-2.

I think Memphis is just an ever-so-slightly better team than UT when everyone is healthy. If Black is indeed out for this game, then I feel quite a bit more confident in picking the Vols. Homecourt just solidifies it for me.

Memphis will play their undisciplined globetrotter ball but as long as Tennessee controls the tempo, they can win. If UT tries to play at Memphis' tempo, Memphis wins.
