Scotty Hopson

If it really is down to us and Mississippi State why he would pick Mississippi State over us is beyond me. Or Kentucky too for that matter if they are still in the mix. We played on national television a lottt more than Miss. St. and more than Kentucky as well. It seems logical to me to go to the program on its way up.

I am an alumn of his HS and am still peripherally involved with the school. I have a number of friends actively involved with University Heights, and I have spoked with his coach on several occasions. Hopkinsville is also a pretty small town where everybody is connected somehow to everybody else. Friday night, I attended a fundraiser at the school, which is where I saw Scotty, Ty, and McCoy.

Thanks man. Keep us updated if you hear anything.

doubt we played on national TV as much as Kentucky. But it probably wasn't much more.

I'm pretty sure we definitely did. I have no numbers to support that but we were on ESPN a lot and on CBS a couple times. Kentucky was just on CBS playing Louisville. We also had the biggest game in the country this season at Memphis which was talked about a lot.

Kentucky was on CBS a lot... Louisville, Indiana, Vandy, Georgia and Arkansas. They were on ESPN or ESPN2 vs. UNC, UAB, Houston, San Diego, Miss St, Florida in a Sat. night primetime game, Vandy and Georgia. That is straight from their website. They were on TV more than us.

Ok I stand corrected but we were on an ESPN network the same number of times, but they were on CBS more.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with that number next year.

Rick Stansbury likely has some AAU coaches on payroll.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Scotty Hopson (Undecided) 10 pts (4-5 fg), 2 rebs, 1 stl -- Hopson showed what a talented, explosive wing prospect he is with some very impressive slashes to the basket. He is very tough on the inside, where he is physical enough to take a bump. He did not show that he has any kind of a jumpshot, air balling one attempt, but found it easy to drive and finish in the paint. He should be an impact player at whatever school he chooses to attend. He finished 10 points in just 12+ minutes of action. from NBADraft.net

Not a signing "day"... Most recruits send their letter of intents on the first day of signing period. Unlike football, there are two signing periods, fall and spring, and most recruits publicly commit before these periods. The basketball spring signing period starts April 16, but I do not know if Scotty will announce by then.
