Scotty "Lottery Pick" Hopson

Lots of players with less ability than Scotty enter the draft without a lick of defensive skills. I think this is clearly going to be his last year in orange.

I know for a fact that I said something about this last year, and I also know for a fact that people drilled me for it, telling me it's how he shoots and he can't help it. Hmm.... It hurts to be right so much
I know for a fact that a ton of people said he needed to take arc of his shot, I know for a fact that its sad you feel the need to brag about an observation you made along with thousands of other fans a year ago. I know for a fact that doesnt make you all of a sudden a basketball genius. I know for a fact that I want to punch you in the face for the last sentence.

I know for a fact I like your style.

As for Scotty, most who have taken the path of caution and patience are correct, IMO. They were playing a team that put up no defensive pressure whatsoever. In some instances it seemed like he had 3 or 4 seconds to get shots off. I'm really looking forward to seeing Scotty against the top 10/15 competition to see if it translates over to making shots with 1 second or less to get it off, with defenders coming at him. Sometimes changing your jumpshot can cause hesitation, or reverting back to the old style when the pressure hits, at least at the beginning.

One thing is clear though, his shot has improved 100% in its form. I think the jury is still out on his defensive effort, until he guards someone that will expose him for it if he's not up to par. I think there will be a substantial improvement this season. Probably not a lottery pick though.

Nonetheless, the kids a player.

Anyone know details of his offseason work on the jump shot?

Also, I've had a rough day at the office and am feeling lazy...when's the next game?

He's put up great numbers 3 games in a row. Give him some credit. I'm sure when he does it against top competition you'll be nowhere to be found.

Haters...Gotta love em.

He is absolutely better. He keeps that rolling, we'll be nasty and only be limited by our PG play. Tatums resurgence helps too.

Before the season started I thought it would come down to PG play, however if they just keep play decent defense and don't turn the ball over I think we're good.

We honeslty don't need more than 10-15 points per night between Maze and Goins.

Oh, and you're right BPV. Tatum is 100 times improved. His knee must have really bothered him last season because he's a completely different player.

Don't put too much stock in the D blowing anyone away. We will have to outscore people. If we can just get some stretch big stops from Goins, we'll be light years ahead of last season.

Maze looks to be better at scoring this year. He looks really comfortable on offense and I really like Goins defense. I think we'll be alright at PG. They're starting to come around.

Slow down guys. We haven't played anyone yet.

Just because we havent played anyone yet doesnt make it any more amazing that he is 14-18 from the arc. Just becase we play crappy teams doesnt make him all of a sudden more accurate on his shots.

Scott had a great night.. I think the team they were playing was absolutely horrible but they could have beat anyone in the country tonight.. they were on fire...

If you watched tonight's game, you saw a different Hopson. He played terrible and make some of the worst three point attempts I've ever seen. He is a talented player, but he's not ready for the NBA. You can't base a season on a few games against poor competition.

I agree, Hopson's play was questionable tonight. Especially that bonehead play at the end where he went up against four defenders and forced a terrible shot that was promptly blocked. He will be great, but he's still learning.

I know for a fact you just took every single word outta my mouth; I know for a fact you read my mind.

I mean, seriously though, what "the.one.the.only" said can be equated to someone saying "I know for a fact Kiffin's wife is hot...It hurts to be right all the time."
