Eleven guys that are four or five star d tackles in the whole country. This is why they are so important. Terry redden, Memphis dt, 3 star...

There will be more later. Still very early in the evaluation process.

Even if it triples, which it won't, think about it. 15-20 top programs in America and 33 4/5 stars. That is a dogfight.....

We already have 2 5-star commits. I expect 5-8 5-star recruits and a bunch right outside of 5-star area. People are so funny.

La'el Collins
Anthony Johnson

I expect Laundry and Hill to move up to 5-star area, and we have quite a few on the board in 5 star striking distance.

Well it looks like LSU is already on their way to having another top 3 class.

We got a whole year to sway them away just like we did with Hunter... '11 recruits are like boys getting their first girl that puts out... She's great 'til another one comes along with bigger amenities and he feels like trying the new flavor! Come on over boys and drink our koolaid cause the Dooley Monster and his crew are gonna take the Orange and White Beauty where she needs to go!

GO VOLS!

Hunter was an out-state recruit, 2010 was a slightly down year for La HS football, we really didn't expect a #5-7 ranking.

We lost 3 out of state recruits late in the year Hunter, Marsh and Davis. The only in-state guy we didn't get that we wanted was Trovon Reed who went to Auburn. 2011 class we really don't need a bunch of out of state guys. We get 90% of the in-state guys and grab 5-10 from out of state, usually east Texas and Florida. I don't think we lost any in-state guys this year that were committed and generally don't lose many.

We lost Hunter but got Boone in return and 3 other good WRs so most LSU fans are pretty happy. Actually what made most of the fans happy was getting Copeland.

Ah the feeling of bringing in awesome recruiting classes only to watch the head coach squander such talent....Brings back not-so-distant memories....

Yet better than what Tennessee could do with the best QB to ever live. Yeah, 2 years removed from the NC, we're all bummed out.

Like I said, we will see what happens, it is very early to be counting your chickens.

Good luck, I have never had any bad blood towards LSU, and I am glad you got such a great coordinator from us in Third and Chavis. I've got too many teams to hate already with Fla, bama, Ga, and the cocks to spread hate over to you guys as well.

We usually have good games against one another.

But I would definitely rather have Hunter than Copeland any day of the week, Good trade!

Go VOLS!!!

We had a need at both DT and WR, we got 3 other WRs also. Copeland was a must have need for us. I like the WRs we have, losing Hunter late in the year hurt but I think we recovered very well.

We don't count the out-state chickens, our in-state chickens are 90% locks. We should have 4-5 5-stars from the state, right now we have 3 on Scout. We have potential to pick up 1-3 out of state 5 stars as well.

The one that we might lose right now is Magee, I expect a 50/50 on him, either LSU or Alabama. He will be a 4 star when all is said and done.

Florida and Texas has the highest number of good recruits, the advantage LSU has is no competition in the state.

I personally am a (cough) "fan" of CLM, I hope he gets as much out of a championship as CPF.

The way Scout hands out 5 stars, LSU could easily have 5-8 of them by the end of the year.

And what's with scout labeling Wilder as a DE? The guy is being recruited for LB. But he could also play RB.

I know it's early, but this list is mediocre, IMO.

And no one should be afraid of LSU getting a highly rated class. Miles will just underachieve with his awesome players like normal.

I believe Scout and Rivals both give 5-stars to the top 25, I prefer Rivals, I think they also give 5 stars to JUCO that are not counted. 8 would be very high I would suspect in the 5-6 to be more likely.

This is more realistic, but I think 5 is still very high. Most of the recruiting champs usually only get 4 or 5 five stars in one year.

I understand that Mack Brown intends to be all over the state of Louisiana this year.

Expecting 6-8 5* recruits is just setting yourself up for disappointment....but keep looking through those purple glasses all you want. If Miles under achieves AGAIN this year with a roster full of 4* and 5* players it is going to get that much harder to convince those kids he can actually coach.

Yeah and going to a university that has the all-time stupidest AD is so much more appealing.

News to BuckeyeVols LSU had 4 5-star recruits last year, and I said 5-8 not 6-8, 5-6 is more likely which is one more than last year. 5 would be one more than last year, and this year La. has a much better class.

We have no problems getting in-state kids to sign at LSU so I would say you are looking through a prescription that is very old, matter of fact you need to go to the eye doctor.

There was only one of top Louisiana players that LSU did not sign and that was Trovon Reed, the rest all went to LSU.

BigOrangePride here:
Dont look at just stars...if you remember Peyton Manning was only a THREE STAR!!!! WHAT?!?! yeah he was. Those stars only go to show how "prestigious" thier highschool was. Give me a hand full of 3 stars and im sure Coach Dooley and his staff can coach them up to be SEC elite...
Thank you very much

According to an article on AJ Johnson, Tn. hasn't offered since the other coaching staff left. He's been looking for an offer to come from us but nothing so far. I've ead that several 2011 recruits just haven't been approached from Tn. since CDD came on board. Probably CDD just hasn't had time to evaluate 2011 recruits yet. I don't know if he has staff that send out "interest" letters, but if so they need to get busy.

Just Found thread on In state WR though it might be interesting.

"I didn't know how I would do against guys from places like California or Florida or Texas, the states where people say the competition is the best. The critics think that Tennessee kids aren't good, but we showed people that we could play at the US Army Combine. All the Tennessee guys hung out together. People don't give Tennessee enough credit."

Becton-Martin was a standout in the one-on-one portion of the combine which warranted his inclusion on the US Army All American All Combine team. "This experience showed me I compete with anyone" said Becton-Martin.

one star unranked receiver on scout. No d1 offers yet? What? Are you this guys uncle or something?

...not his uncle, I've seen the kid play.
And FYI scout hasn't offically came out with the receiver rankings/stars. All of the TN WR have one star by it because that's just how all of them start out until evaluation Is done
