Well it looks like LSU is already on their way to having another top 3 class.
We got a whole year to sway them away just like we did with Hunter... '11 recruits are like boys getting their first girl that puts out... She's great 'til another one comes along with bigger amenities and he feels like trying the new flavor! Come on over boys and drink our koolaid cause the Dooley Monster and his crew are gonna take the Orange and White Beauty where she needs to go!
GO VOLS!
Ah the feeling of bringing in awesome recruiting classes only to watch the head coach squander such talent....Brings back not-so-distant memories....We already have 2 5-star commits. I expect 5-8 5-star recruits and a bunch right outside of 5-star area. People are so funny. La'el Collins Anthony Johnson I expect Laundry and Hill to move up to 5-star area, and we have quite a few on the board in 5 star striking distance.
Hunter was an out-state recruit, 2010 was a slightly down year for La HS football, we really didn't expect a #5-7 ranking.
We lost 3 out of state recruits late in the year Hunter, Marsh and Davis. The only in-state guy we didn't get that we wanted was Trovon Reed who went to Auburn. 2011 class we really don't need a bunch of out of state guys. We get 90% of the in-state guys and grab 5-10 from out of state, usually east Texas and Florida. I don't think we lost any in-state guys this year that were committed and generally don't lose many.
We lost Hunter but got Boone in return and 3 other good WRs so most LSU fans are pretty happy. Actually what made most of the fans happy was getting Copeland.
But I would definitely rather have Hunter than Copeland any day of the week, Good trade!
Go VOLS!!!
The way Scout hands out 5 stars, LSU could easily have 5-8 of them by the end of the year.
I believe Scout and Rivals both give 5-stars to the top 25, I prefer Rivals, I think they also give 5 stars to JUCO that are not counted. 8 would be very high I would suspect in the 5-6 to be more likely.
Expecting 6-8 5* recruits is just setting yourself up for disappointment....but keep looking through those purple glasses all you want. If Miles under achieves AGAIN this year with a roster full of 4* and 5* players it is going to get that much harder to convince those kids he can actually coach.
Yeah and going to a university that has the all-time stupidest AD is so much more appealing.
News to BuckeyeVols LSU had 4 5-star recruits last year, and I said 5-8 not 6-8, 5-6 is more likely which is one more than last year. 5 would be one more than last year, and this year La. has a much better class.
We have no problems getting in-state kids to sign at LSU so I would say you are looking through a prescription that is very old, matter of fact you need to go to the eye doctor.
There was only one of top Louisiana players that LSU did not sign and that was Trovon Reed, the rest all went to LSU.
Posted via VolNation Mobile"I didn't know how I would do against guys from places like California or Florida or Texas, the states where people say the competition is the best. The critics think that Tennessee kids aren't good, but we showed people that we could play at the US Army Combine. All the Tennessee guys hung out together. People don't give Tennessee enough credit."
Becton-Martin was a standout in the one-on-one portion of the combine which warranted his inclusion on the US Army All American All Combine team. "This experience showed me I compete with anyone" said Becton-Martin.
