Scrimmage at TBA Saturday...

If I can talk my wife into it, I'll be there before the Bama game. I'll be at Carson Newman's practice the night before though so that might be pushing it.

Sounds like a good time. Go watch the scrimmage for a couple hours, then tailgate, and go watch UT beat Bama!

Visits from Stokes, Williams III, Daniels, and McLemore this weekend too?

Should be a great time to get a preview of Tobias. Wish I was in Knox this weekend.

Eh, I'd rather just tailgate all day than watch players in an open gym with little to no structure

Why would there be no structure? The season has started so the coaches can be there.

That's what I was thinking. Pearl says he doesn't do a Midnight Madness because practice time is too valuable. If that's the case, why burn time on a Saturday afternoon?

He doesn't do midnight madness because we can't pack the arena like major basketball schools do. It would not be a good sale to recruits to see a less than half-full arena for midnight madness.

If Pearl did hold a midnight madness.. Take a jab at how many people you think would be there? I'd say around 15,000.

More people will show up for a scrimmage before the Alabama/Vols football game than a Midnight Madness event. Also, as far as promoting the team to the fan base and the recruits in town, there probably is not a better time for him to hold a scrimmage. This weekend is one of the few chips he has left for recruiting before the fall signing period. With a great turnout expected for the football game, he integrates basketball a little bit more into the weekend and should generate some positive feelings about the basketball team. They need it more than ever.

Besides, I've never known you to put much stock into the stuff that comes out of Pearl's mouth.

I disagree. TBA could be packed.

Dude what are you talking about? Burn time? He's having a scrimmage on saturday. Scrimmages are apart of practice. They are just doing a better job of advertising when this one is so the fans can come out. All practices are open to the fans. Your comment makes no sense.

Obviously it wouldn't be some overblown even like UK has, but I think TBA could get 15,000 to 20,000, especially if it was hyped up some. Heck they had one in the Green years and 10K or so showed up for that.
