I thought more people would be here. I suppose it wasn't promoted much?

Hard for some people to get excited for a bball scrimmage on Bama Saturday I assume. Updates would be great by the way :)

Trae Golden is the guy I was impressed with earlier, and he's been keeping it up. He might be a really good one.

It looks like Scotty's offense has improved, but it's hard to tell whether or not that will translate to the games.

Either our interior D has drastically improved, or we can't finish in the paint. I think it's a mix of both.

We still suck at free throws.

Fields and maymon are on which team? I am happy but not surprised our interior defense is looking good in the scrimmage.

Maymon was quick and aggressive. I don't really like Skylar, but as I said a long time ago, the kid has handles and he can hold his own at the point. I'm sure we'll never see him play there, but he is capable. Jordan McRae has so much potential. He needs some good coaching and he'll be a star. I gotta admit, Brian looked even better than RTL. We have a good team.

Well, maybe we will get to enjoy McRae next year. Doubt he will play this year.

Jordan m should have his eligibility restored before the season starts. It is standard to suspend Jordan for getting extra benefits and appeal for reinstatement after he repays. His benefit was the BBQ.

Kush I think it is funny to hear the sky is falling here so much.

Cool MHF. I hadn't kept up with his part and was somewhat surprised to read he wasn't able to participate. This isn't uncommon for a player. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Hopson looked the same. He dribbled the ball off his knee when trying to drive. He'll score some points this year though.

We should be a good defensive team but we will not be able to score in the post consistently.

Fields will be a nice addition on defense.

McRae looked really good.

Anyone expecting one and done from Tobias will be unhappy. He looks solid but not overly athletic and the one three I saw him shoot looked like a set shot- no lift.

I watched about an hour of the scrimmage. Overall impressions were pretty positive, but it is kind of hard to tell the overall level of play in something like that. Anyway, a couple of thoughts:

McRae was the most impressive of the newcomers by far.

Fields is going to be a solid additon backing up Williams.

Aside from a couple of end-game situations, I did not see either team press at all.

I think any observer could have identified Williams, Hopson, Goins, and Harris as probable starters. I have no idea who the 5th will be. There are a lot of options for that 5th spot which allow Pearl to go in a couple of different directions, but no clear cut choice. If I had to go on only what I saw Saturday, I'd put McRae at the 2 and Hopson at SF.
