The SEC rule on institutionally controlled, artificial noise states...

"The use of institutionally-controlled computerized sound systems, including music, and institutionally-controlled artificial noisemakers shall be restricted to pre-game, halftime, post-game, after a score and team or media timeouts."

Normally I wouldn't bring this up, but this is what Auburn got in trouble for in the Florida game, and I heard multiple times last night when SC violated this rule as well.

Any thoughts?

Good point, I heard it several times throughout the game too. I doubt anything is said about it unless UT complains.

Couldn't care less.

When your use to playing in front of 75,000-100,000 screaming fans, who cares about a rooster noise.

I LOL'd at Spurrier whinny voice coming on and saying "It's Carolina Football Time."

I rewound it on TIVO and laughed again.

My only fear is that this might give someone at UT the idea to revive that idiotic "Smokey's On The Prowl" sound effect.

on the way home last night on their call-in show, a USC fan was complaining about how many times our band played Rocky Top and essentially blamed the USC administration for allowing a visiting band to sit where they do. this caller said our band was in the best acoustic part of the stadium and it drowned out USC's own band. thus, were it not for our band, we probably wouldn't have overcome the deficit . . . comical.

I have to laugh every time I hear that rooster call...LOL....I think if I was the opposing team, that wouldn't intimidate me

They even used the same thing Friday night and Saturday morning at our hockey games with Carolina. (Maybe the same sound guy, I dunno). normally I wouldn't care, but its so annoying, and incredibly stupid.

We blasted them both games (6-3 and 9-1) and started making chicken noises on the bench and heading back in the locker room. They had one fan who was dressed like Quail Man (from the Doug cartoon show) who began screaming at our guys in the penalty box, and our players just replayed "BAWK-BAWK, CAW-CAW"!:lolabove:

They don't know when to get loud. Its a cue for the Gamecock crowd to cheer. They are lost without adult supervison.

Most of the problem is that the sound system there SUCKS. I couldn't hardly hear the stupid Cock all night, of course I was sitting near the loud, rowdy upper deck Tennessee section!

Their band is in a stupid section.

A guy sitting next to me said that the student's were pretty pissed about it.

Apparently, they moved the band from one of the corner sections, like where the Pride was sitting, to the upper rows of the endzone section behind the goal posts. That's the student section, so that's why the students are mad. Apparently, the only thing the band drowns out, is the students, and that might be why the student section started "The Wave" during the Gamecock Band's halftime show.

Down where I was, when the band started playing Rocky Top during the pregame, you literally could not hear a single note of Carolina's "2001" entrance. As far as I was concerned, there was cheesy smoke and then they ran out to Rocky Top.

Traded phone calls with my Gamecock buddy last night. Just like you wrote earlier about your GC friend about to burst at the seams when they took lead. I told him and my son we'll need that early D TD in the end. It worked out perfectly and I got to write him now we again own bragging rights for another year to twelve. Hope you enjoyed the one you had cuz its over baby.
