You know how screwed Lane Kiffin left Tennessee when he bolted within weeks of Signing Day, and most of the solid potential replacements were unavailable?

Try having a guy sign his first class, go all the way through Spring Practice, and then have to fire him and find a replacement in May.

After watching Chizik's last year followed by Malzahn's first, it's pretty hard to disagree with the barners on that one.

But there's a big difference between a bad coach and a bad hire. Chizik isn't a good coach, but he recruited very well and won a national tile. Hard to see how that falls under the category of a bad hire.

Ah, not really. His job wasn't to Win football games. His job was too hold the job until a better coach could be offered the next year.

We should have done that after Kiffin left

1. He won 4 games with a team that finished the previous season ranked 5th in the nation.

2. He came across as genuinely insane in every press conference he held.

3. Lastly, Arkansas should have never hired a person to "hold the job" and run their program, who ran his own life so well that he was $40.7 million in debt.
