Season Halfway Mark

I am looking at these stats and laughing at how someone tried to tell me Beam “has been productive” but isn’t on the same level as Burns or Dollander 😂😂😂😂
At this point in their careers, I still stand by that statement. Still a fantastic pitcher.

If they keep doing this; then no.

Last year's Arkansas team was not this dominant in any sense as they relied heavily a small number of guys- especially one as we know. And when they finally slumped they did not have the depth to take up the slack.

Vols may not even try too hard to win the SEC tourney and could have enough SEC quality starters to not even stress the lineup. 5 or 6 quality starters in a tourney where we it will only take 4-5 games to win with the three weekend starters starting their normal Fri-Sat-Sun days.
Arkansas relied on the Kopps to bail them out a lot last year. There bullpen has suffered since he has left.

It’s mostly just your phrasing of “been productive” than gets me. Those are some eye-popping numbers for Beam.
Maybe my phrasing undersold it but it’s factual nonetheless. I still think he has potential to be an All American at UT (not just freshman All American). I just don’t think his pitches are as developed as the other starters.

It's interesting that at this point only 4 SEC teams have a winning conference record....
UT
UGA
AR
Auburn
That's hardly following tradition.

Yeah, the top 25 looks way different now. SEC is not dominating the top 10 spots. And FL is not ranked, I feel so sorry for them.

Definitely feels like a down year for the SEC, but it can also just be attributed to our extreme dominance. If we weren’t just mauling people both OM and Candy would have winning records to. Guess Tennessee is here to kill the league.

……I love it.

LOL. I was a bit surprised by the mauling from the Dogs.

It's going to be fun watching how this shakes out.

UT has updated stats and it is now 0.82
Opponents WHIP is 2.14

For pitchers with over 7+ innings pitched:

Drew Beam 0.46
Chase Burns 0.79
Chase Dollander 0.78
Zander Sechrist 1.03
Will Mabry 0.59
Camden Sewel .94
Kirby Connell 0.95
Redmond Walsh 0.62
Mark MCLaughlin 0.77
Ben Joyce 0.92
Wyatt Evans 0.41
Jake Fitzgibbons 1.57

Wow, Fitzgibbons and Sechrist over 1 ERA???? Giving the Vol Pitching Staff a bad name with numbers like that!

Is it possible that this is the best college baseball team ever assembled?

The 1983 Texas Longhorns are often touted as being one of the very best teams ever. They lost 17 games that year including just 3 southwest conference games.

Is it possible?

I'm thinking so.

We could lose half our remaining games and still end the regular season at 42-15… lol

We could lose one in each remaining SEC series and still end the regular season 49-8 (23-7 SEC)

That’s just ridiculously crazy.
