Seastrunk or Mack Brown, which is better for UT?

Who says we have to choose one or the other? There will be plenty of spots for both OL and an RB.

If either of these guys say they want to be a Vol, they won't be turned down.
Seastrunk, yes...Brown, maybe. He's an Oku clone, so I'm not sure we have a pressing need for another when we have a limited number of schollies to give. We still need some LB, DT, and DB help.

If there is one position where we have an embarrassment of riches and can afford to not recruit anyone, it's at RB.

In a zone-blocking scheme, you can throw almost anybody back there, and they would do good. All they have to be able to do is hit a hole with authority and break away from the linebackers and backs. The back also needs to see Cutback Lanes, as that is what the scheme stresses. Lets say that a Matt Forte type back would be our best bet, or Montario Hardesty type back.

u take a RB every year as was noted every year...yes we may have good numbers there but that situation goes from pretty good to pretty bad with 1 injury...gotta take a least 1 RB

Seastrunk, Bryce Brown, and Oku could just not be at the same school. Seastrunk is a very unique person. He's not neccesarilly a primadonna but wherever he ends up he would have to be THE guy and he's a VERY emotional guy to the point where he almost can't contain himself sometimes.

If he went to Tennessee, I just don't think it would turn out well. Personally, I think he would probably end up transferring after his freshman year to be honest. This is not a knock on Lache at all.

As for Mack Brown, he goes to one of the best HS football programs in the state of Georgia, he's a competitor. He has played through injuries and I just think he would be a better fit personality wise with Bryce and Oku.

I couldn't disagree more.

Saying Seastrunk would transfer after his freshman year is ridiculous. He would get the same amount of carries next year that Bryce Brown got this year. I guarantee you that, especially with Bryce being in his first year of a starting role. I think Seastrunk would beat out Oku. Oku may be the one who would transfer in that situation.... not Seastrunk.

BB doesn't look fat to me at all. He's getting Rocked up. I can see a big difference between where he's at now from when we first recruited him. I think he wants to follow in the Jamal Lewis mold...a powerback with 4.4 speed. Our S&C coach knows how he needs to train...what he needs to focus on, so it's not like he's off getting fat like Lendale White or something.

As for Seastrunk or Brown...I honestly think CLK has to be the one to ask himself if either guy is a real upgrade from Poole, cause I think Poole leaves if we bring in another guy this class...and I personally get tired of hearing the coaches talk about how he consistently shows up and the big runs he breaks off in Spring and Fall practices...yet when it comes game time, they sit him on the bench. WTF, Over?!

No because Oku, as he has shown this year, is content playing a backup role. That is something that I strongly believe Lache would not do, which would likely lead to him transferring, if he does end up signing with UT, which honestly isn't likely at all.

The only other guys we would use a scholly on would be Lattimore or Dyer if he wanted to change his mind. Maybe Gio?

As you would say, I could not disagree more. There are a bunch of people that UT would us a scholly on. Mack Brown and Roy Finch are very high on the RB board.

Just off the top of my head, the staff would probably take Seastrunk, Lattimore, Dyer, Mack Brown, Roy Finch, Gio Bernard, Eduardo Clements, and lots of others that are committed to other schools.

I am pretty sure we would not take one from him.
