All time National Titles, with Duke's upset this year, the ACC has 12. The PAC 10 has 15. The BIG TEN has 10. The poor SEC has 10.

Since 1996, the SEC has 5 and the ACC has 5. What????

The NCAA tournament record of the ACC of all schools not named Duke and UNC is absolutely horrific. The past several years they have not had a team not named those two get past the first game or first weekend in spite of the gift of high seeds. Two years ago the ACC did not have a win vs a non conference ranked school yet get 6 in and they all lost in game 1 basically.

This year things start to correct themselves as the SEC will get in 6 and the ACC gets in 4. And 4 is to much.

The NCCA tournament record of the sEC of all schools not named Kentucky or Florida is even more horrific. No other SEC school has a NC. Only other school with any SUSTAINED NCAA success is LSU.

I guess we have to discard NC State's 2 NC, Maryland's NC, and Virginia's multiple FF.

I also like how you use 1996 as your cut off for criteria. If you go back 5 additional years, the ACC has 3 more NC and SEC has 0.

The facts are, in the modern NCAA tournament (since 1985 when the field expanded to 64), the ACC is the dominant conference, hands down.

I'm taking a chance at sounding like an idiot, but didn't Arkansas win it? '94 maybe?

Yep, Arkansas 1994 National Champs. Man, you wrote a long, inaccurate post.

Forgot they joined a couple years before. Sorry 3 to 1 ACC. My bad. I grossly overstated the ACC dominance. also forgot how the defending HOgs from the mighty SEC got rolled by a UCLA team WITHOUT their starting point guard. Sounds kinda like UK this past year.
