SEC Champ vs. Big XII Champ in Bowl Game

It's going to be. This move is going to tie up so much money between the Big 10, Pac 12, Big XII, and SEC, that the ACC is finished as a significant football conference. If FSU wasn't considering the Big XII before, they have to now. And if they go, they're taking Clemson or Miami with them. Lose any 2 of those 3, and the rest will be jumping like rats from a sinking ship.

The money is going to be so disproportionate, that if you are in the ACC and you get an offer from one of the power players, you absolutely have to take it. The ACC is only going to last as long as the other conferences are willing to let it.

Man I could see that. Florida State better see it too.

I'd love to see UNC choose to be one of those rats who jump off the ship. Then, we could get that football trip to Chapel Hill.

Nashville could host a larger bowl bid, wish they could pull it off

I think that the CITY definitely could.

LP Field doesn't really say "big bowl" to me though.

I'd love to have a bigger game here, and I agree that Nashville is ready for a bigger game, but LP Field is holding the game back. Not to mention that it is downright COLD during the Music City Bowl some years. It's definitely not on the same level of enjoyment that bowls in FL, TX, and CA provide.

Is this the first step towards a 4 team playoff?

If so, I like the proactiveness by both conferences. Whoever negotiated this for the BigXII should get all of the money the bowl game pulls in. That's ridiculous that the BigXII could stay relevant when everyone thinks that they're a dead conference walking.

Tell that to green bay fans.

Just put on a coat.

Right, that works for the game, but are fans going to want to hang out downtown spending money?

When Atlanta hosted the Super Bowl, the cold was an issue. I know that the ice storm that burdened the experience was rare, but a similar situation could mess up the bowl festivities in Nashville as well. Not saying that the weather would deter me from enjoying a mid-major bowl if UT went again, but it would be an issue in the back of decision makers' minds.

Not to mention there are only so many tickets to be sold to the game seeing as LP Field can't even fit 70,000.
