"WOKE" ESPN is to the MAX!
AA1vpdjd.img

ESPN announced that Hollywood movie star Timothée Chalamet would be the guest picker for "College GameDay" this weekend in Atlanta ahead of the Texas-Georgia SEC Championship Game.

However, fans were puzzled at the selection of Chalamet, as the "Dune" star doesn’t have any clear ties to either of the schools playing.

"Nothing says SEC like a New York City Ivy Leaguer with dual citizenship in the US & France. Nailed it," one person on X wrote.

Too bad they did not ask Maria Taylor or Matthew McConahay.

What does this have to do with being woke? He’s starring in a Disney-produced film that opens later this month.
Oh…I don’t know…maybe because he has ZERO affiliation with College Football or EITHER Team participating…and his “lifestyle” doesn’t exactly fit the demographic. Kinda like putting a “creature” on your beer can. Or having Tony Randall do the Play by Play of Monday Night Football. Meanwhile having Gronk host the Tony Awards.

Ya know…STUPIDITY!

It's called "product placement" and he's the product.

Why does Heupel do press conferences with Coke bottles sitting in front of him? Because they paid for the placement. What the heck does Coke have to do with football and press conferences? Not a dang thing. They paid for it.

There's nothing "woke" here. It's a paid placement.

Whatever Ma’am…thanks for the “Marketing Degree” from The University of Dumbassville…

I'm not seeing how this is "woke."

I'm sure the point of it is to plug an upcoming Disney movie. Would it make you feel better if ESPN had trotted out Matthew McConaughey for the umpteenth time? If so, relax .... I'm sure ABC will show him throughout the game, and he will do yet another incoherent sideline interview.

The point is obviously the promotion of an upcoming Disney film release. It's a shameless plug, but how is it an example of being "woke?"

He's starring in a big budget Disney film about Bob Dylan. It's called Marketing 101, and is done every day of the week. It has zero to do with being 'woke' or anything else.

Why anyone would give a rat's ass what celebrity or athlete is picking games is beyond me, but I haven't watched any of these shows for a couple of decades anyway, so whatever.
