Just do away with targeting if it’s going to be this inconsistent and randomly applied. The defender lowered his head, led with his head and made forceable contact with his head to the side of the head of the runner. That hit is the very type of hit that can lead to concussions/head injuries.

Those collisions are unreal if it’s right in front of you on the sidelines. TV really softens the violence of the contact.

... and the very next season, we would have an 8-0 team in the SEC West and an 8-0 team from the SEC East, who obviously hadn't played each other in the regular season. Just let them settle it in the CFP? No ... because the SEC should have it's own Champion - and we shouldn't have to split it.
