I still think (read that as "hope") that Florida has another gear, maybe two, that it can go to for a game of this magnitude. I think you will see the Gators throwing a lot of screen passes or slants against Alabama, trying to take advantage of the pressure they will bring to Tebow.

Still, I'm not going to vote. Don't want to jinx anything!

AL linebackers are as good as there is. Intermediate stuff isn't a surefire bet. Their linebackers are also as big as Tebow. It will be interesting. My guess is tga they tell Tebiw to beat them throwing it.

No, but I'd consider his unforced fumble in '98 to be somewhat lucky too, wouldn't you?

I didn't say it wasn't, but the argumet doesn't hold a lot of water. UF lobbied for inclusion and was voted in. We would have still been I the argument, but as it happened, didn't need it.

They say you need a break or two every year to win it all.

I'd say that year Florida caught about 17 or 18 of them.
Not arguing. Just pointing it out.

Every championship team has to overcome bad days and bad breaks.

I hope Alabama beats UF soundly and violently...Then I hope Alabama gets destroyed in the national title game against whoever they play...I feel dirty hoping one or the other wins the SEC title....I hope they go to 10 OT's

There have been a few of those teams. Not many. The UF team that NE killed was strong.

I will never forget that game and the absolute slaughter it was. We had the offensive speed back then, but not the guys to do battle in the trenches.

Osborne's 'roid program was on full display for that couple of seasons.

UFs '06 title is eaten up with some lucky blocked FG.

I don't care what happens to South Carolina. Bama is our biggest rival and hearing Rammer Jammer after that game was probably the most sickening feeling I've had watching college football. I want that blocked kick to be as meaningless as possible.

Agreed, but the Huskers had much, much better skill players in those days, and had alot more speed compared to the present too, they fielded some well rounded squads back then.

Always a source of confusion, with the reguar season all in one year and the nat c-ship played a few days into the new year.

Exactly... But no one here says the Vols were the 1999 National Champs.

Yeah it's weird cause I've heard both. Don't announcers use the current bowl year though, as in last January "UF just won the 2009 NC" since that's when it's happening?

I remember in NCAA football 2004 when they used to have clips from players at the Sr Bowl, and Mike Doss said "National Champs '02" and someone "corrected" him and said "you mean '03."
