Who say ye Volnation will be the SEC coaches being fired or resign this year?

I think Mark Richt may be in trouble. He has a team loaded with talent and is not getting the job done.

Spurrier may hang it up this year.

Muschamp may get fired.

Don't foresee any changes in the west.

Richt might retire, but he won't be fired. Muschamp is safe for now, but will probably have to win big next season. I think Dan Mullen is in big trouble, their schedule is brutal down the stretch.

Richt will get a pass for the injuries. UF won't fire Muschamp unless they can make a big splash hire.

Mullen might be a season away.

None of these are close to being on the hot seat.

Richt easily gets a pass for the Mizzou loss; however, Richt does not get a pass for the Vandy loss. Richt is not yet on the "hot seat", however, if UGA happens to lose to both Florida and Auburn (giving them a 5-loss season), then I think Richt is forced out.

Georgia Tech could beat them too.

Could be a year where no one gets fired.

I think Richt has more reserve capital to draw on than Mullen does.

Richt certainly has a lot of recent Eastern Division Champion hardware. However, UGA is not paying Richt $3.2M merely for SEC East titles.

He's not on the hot seat, yet; however, if UGA falls to Florida in two weeks, then Richt's job rides on the Auburn game, IMO.

Richt.

Remember when we came into 2005 off of a division title the season before ranked in the top 5 and ended up tanking the season. That is close to what UGA is doing right now. He won't get fired this year, if only because UGA would be the 3rd best available job at best this year, but he will be out of extra lives the next time he disappoints like Fulmer was in 2008.

In all honesty, no head coach in the SEC right now is even close to the hot seat. However, for some underperforming coordinators, that could be different

I don't think Richt is in any danger at all of losing his job this season. But after next season he could.

I guess if there's any coach who's closing in on the hot seat it might be Mullen, but even then it would be a stretch.

I think the honeymoon there is definitely over, but he probably is safe; they are staring at 5-7 though. UK and Arkansas are the 2 games left that are probable wins, the rest ( TAMU, SC, Alabama, and Ole Miss) are very likely losses.

I think Richt is fine right now. However, the way this team has folded after all the injuries is kind of alarming. Murray leaves after this season. Who will replace him? Having Gurly and Marshall back will help, but the receiving corps needs help. And the defense is awful. Grantham might be gone after this year if they don't turn it around.

UGA's AD is not a moron like Hamilton was. UGA will not fire Richt this year or next. Richt is there as long as he wants to be.

I'm gonna go with the Kentucky coach, I know it's his first year and whatnot, but Kentucky has basically become the new doormat/cellar dweller of the SEC.

Only way I could really see Muschamp being on the hot seat off the top of my head would be if the Gators blow it at home to Vandy or something. Hmmm.

Vandy beats Florida, having a decent 7-6 or 8-5 season, Muschamp is fired, Franklin is sucked up by the Gators, Vandy collapses back into irrelevance, Franklin ends up after maybe one or two semi good years bringing Florida down to a point below where UT was thanks to racking up several NCAA violations or something, and Florida slides into oblivion for the next decade or so. Tennessee regularly blows out and even shuts out both of teams.

THE END

I completely agree. Texas and USC openings will keep a few head coaches at their jobs this year. Automatically removes the best two available coaches

You are being charitable to Mike Hamilton. If only Hamilton could have "risen" to the level of moron we would have been much better off. MH was a total and complete disaster for the entire athletic department, and thanks for that can be given to Doug Dickey who recommended/supported him for the job.

Richt and Muschamp will easily be fine because of injuries, especially Richt. Mullens is probably in trouble. Not sure why Stoops was even brought up. He has KY recruiting at a level they never have, and they've been showing some improvement in spots this year.

Interesting to see just how closely that Richt's last few years mimicked Fulmer's. Great talent but no cigars. If Richt fires a coordinator this year and makes a bad hire then things would be getting interesting in Athens.
