How hard would it be to kick Vandy out if we add aTm? What are the legal hurdles? How many votes would it take?

While your at it kick Kentucky out too and send us to the Big East, where basketball is king and we actually somewhat compete in football, or at least find a new rival to begin a fresh 26 year losing streak to.

The step beyond the super conferences might take care of all these. Not sure where this will end. If I was UK, I would beg to get into the Big East.

I love how nobody understands the tradition of the SEC.

Vandy was one of the original founders.

It also just so happens to help bring up the entire league in terms of how we look for graduating and GPA.

They are always good in basketball and baseball.

They will never leave the SEC.

I could care less if they were a founding member. I want that extra SEC win.

Stop the nonsensical posts. Vandy is a charter member of the SEC and is a member for as long as they want to be a member. They can not be forced out in any circumstance by anyone other than than their own doing.

why does anyone kick an easy win in FB out of the conference? the academics bring prestige. they bring a lot in other sports. they are a charter member. having vandy is good in many regards.

Kentucky and Vandy make considerably more money from football than from basketball thanks to getting their SEC share. They neither one want to go anywhere.

People want into the SEC not out of it. Kicking someone out when they don't want to go is near impossible.

Let's remove the teams we can beat in football and replace them with teams we can't beat. Then, we can thump our chests about going 0-8 in the greatest conference ever.

Yay, participation ribbons!

I find it ironic-- or moronic-- that this forum contains conference realignment threads at once decrying the possible loss of the tradition that is Third Saturday in October and simultaneously suggesting we ignore the SEC tradition Vandy has earned dating to 1932.

Hmmm this sounds familiar.... Like Syracuse and the Big East. Money is all that matters

This wouldn't be totally unprecedented. The Big East booted Temple a few years back.

But aside from them being a founding SEC member, Vandy isn't going anywhere as long as conferences like to tout their academic prowess. The Dores and Florida are currently the only AAU members in the SEC (fwiw, Mizzou and A&M are too).

I'm saying, these schools don't make decisions based on bull**** like "tradition". They make decisions based on money.
