He is impressive. I think he is experiencing some growing pains. He will get better as our line gets better. I'm excited for him and proud he is a vol . . . homegrown as well!

I watched both games and it's hard to tell how good he will be right now with a young line in front of him. We have hurd the hype about his 4.37 but I haven't seen that so far in the games. Speed doesn't make a running back or poor ole Emmitt Smith with his 4.6 wouldn't played in the NFL. Vision, balance, and speed off the cut makes a great back. Time will tell if Hurd has those things.

They have GPS devices in the players pads and Jalen's registered the most MPH. Several kids have said he's one of the faster guys on the team.

You just made yourself look stupid. You talk about his speed and how you haven't seen it in games yet, but you also admit he is running behind a young o-line. you even contradict yourself by saying speed doesn't make a running back....but still the o-line would matter in that opinion.

Congrats to this kid and glad he chose the Vols! If we ever open some holes on that line where this kid can get to the second level of the defense, then I think he will really open some eyes around the country. He's doing a good job getting the tough yards, but I can't wait to see him get out into open space so he can use that size/speed/elusiveness combination he has against smaller db's.

Good press for him and UT. He and Lane have certainly earned the yards they've pulled to date because that poor O-Line certainly needs some work.

The freshman is the first Tennessee running back to pick up the honor since Arian Foster in 2005.

Bravo Jalen Hurd. :hi:

Let's find the big holes against Okie.
