ESPN has always just used the AP poll rankings ever since ESPN took its name off / stopped sponsoring the coaches poll following the 2004 season (from 1997 until 2004, it was called the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll...in the same manner as it now being called the Amway Coaches Poll).
Yeah, it's a pretty awful lineup for a college football weekend.
Of course, more props to whomever was smart enough to schedule the VT and UT Bristol game for week 2, because they realized the matchup itself would have almost zero competition that weekend...which allowed it to be more the center of focus this week.
I'll be paying attention to the Kentucky/Florida game and the South Carolina game. I doubt I happens because Kentucky has had a shot for a couple of years now but this could be the year they beat Florida. Doubtful though
Kentucky - UF should be mandatory watching for Vols. We'll see what D. Barker looks like vs a real defense. He showed promise last week but the team couldnt finish against Southern Miss which is concerning for Kentucky. Also curious to see if Florida's offense can get anything going or will they become stagnant early like they did last week?
Auby - Jack St. Love watching Jack St. It will be interesting to see what Malzahn does this week with the QBs, plus Jack St is a fun team to root for.
This week really is a crappy week. It might be fun to see MTSU possibly beat Vandy although I think Vandy wins. But it's a toss up for sure. Watch some Arkansas and TCU before our big game.
Basically we just gotta hope some underdog teams hang close for any entertaining games early in the day.
