is embarrassing. I'll bet that over 3/4 of all the people that want to see an all SEC NCG have never even been outside of the the southeastern US. I love the SEC, but I hate ignorance. They do play football outside of our region. I know certain people that do not have a life outside of football, or they are so full of foolish pride that they are unwilling to imagine that other teams that do not belong to the SEC are good. The biggest challenge that comes with playing a bowl game against a member of another conference is that they usually play a different style with different schemes that teams are not used to playing in their own conference. Why do you think that Bama "struggled" with Georgia Southern. If GS would have had better athletes, or would have been named Michigan, Oregon, or USC, then we would have been having a different conversation this morning. My fellow Southerners, do not let blind pride and prejudice get the best of you. You only make a fool out of yourselves.

You should have used the last 5 BCS title games as another point for backup!

I guess the fact that the SEC dominance is such a recent phenomena has slipped your mind. I have been a college football fan for over 35 years. As a Vol fan, I remember getting amped up to play USC (the real USC), and getting waxed 44-0. Enjoy this while it lasts. I promise you that it will not last much longer.

Unless I am confused, it is today, not 19-something.

Army used to be a powerhouse too. What's your point? SEC dominates now, has dominated in recent history and will continue to dominate for years to come

I think SEC homers are pretty hilarious and illogical, but I'm not sure what the necessity of this thread is.

Moving Alabama-LSU to primetime paid off nicely for CBS, which said Saturday produced the network's most-watched regular season college football game in 22 years.

Alabama-LSU averaged 20 million viewers with a national household rating of 11.5, up 161 percent from last year's 4.4 when the teams played. By comparison, Alabama-Florida drew a 4.6 in CBS' other SEC primetime game on Oct. 1.

Not surprisingly, Birmingham was the top-rated market for Alabama-LSU with a 56.4 rating. To put that in perspective, Alabama's win over Texas for the BCS championship during the 2009 season drew a 67.4 on ABC.

The other top markets for Alabama-LSU on CBS: New Orleans (45.7); Nashville (29.2); Knoxville (26.8); Atlanta (23.9); Memphis (23.6); Columbus, Ohio (22.6); Jacksonville, Fla. (19.7); Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C. (18.0); and Orlando (17.2).

The last time CBS attracted so many viewers for a regular-season college game was 1989, when 22.5 million watched No. 7 Miami defeat No. 1 Notre Dame 27-10 in a regular-season finale. Saturday's viewership peaked at 24.3 million viewers (14.3 rating) during the final nine minutes of LSU's 9-6 overtime win.

So you are one of the guys suggesting that Ok St should play? why? They lost to Iowa state they are not deserving enough to play in the NC. Get over it. Bama and LSU would wax every team in college football.

I guess we should just call the season for LSU and Bama for the next year too. You are painfully making my point.

I am trying to put it nicely that you are too young or ignorant to understand perception. Probably both.

I don't give a damn about perception but instead prefer reality. You keep reliving games during the Ford and Carter administration if that is what you enjoy. Hell cancel your ESPN and watch ESPN Classic only for all I care.

Not quite buddy. Explain your point on how a team who lost to a 6-6 team should be in the NC game. Go! Or a team that lost to a 12-0 team. If anyone besides Bama gets in then give it to Stanford. At least they lost to an actual team.

Could've fooled me.

SEC "loyalty" is just a crutch used by fans of mediocre SEC teams so that they can live vicariously through the conference's most successful programs. Every time a Vol fan pulls for Bammer or the gators out of SEC "loyalty", an angel loses its' wings.

SEC "loyalty" has nothing to do with it. The fact that LSU and Bama are the two best teams in the country does.

It's really not that recent a phenomenon. It's been this way since the mid 90s I'd say.

. . . and we just weren't all that good in 1982 when Marcus Allen ran wild on us.

Do you know much about Ga Southern football? I have no idea why any FBS team would ever schedule them. That offense is crazy to try and stop.

I'm not talking about who deserves to go to the title game. That's not my call. I'm talking about Vol fans and fans of other SEC teams who incessantly cheer for their supposed rivals in the name of the conference. I just don't agree with it. :twocents:

The best two teams in the country should be playing each other. The best two teams are LSU and Bama. Hands down. Get over it.

I'll agree with you there. I've never gotten the "I cheer for the SEC" crowd. I want them all to lose.

Everyone but you seems to agree that the SEC is CURRENTLY the dominant conference. It comes up on almost every CFB show. Has it always been? No. Will it always be? Unlikely. What's your point? Lame thread is lame.
