Florida, LSU, South Carolina all looked terrible in losses.

Vandy isn't that good either.

SEC is 1-3 in Power 5 games.

The big three, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee all looked fine. Don’t focus on the overrated pretenders

Alabama played MTSU and Georgia played UT Martin lol...

Also you judge a conference by the ENTIRE league and not 2-3 teams. We make fun of B1G because it is usually just Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State (well maybe not people on here but SEC fans).

Well, we had three teams lay major eggs this weekend and the rest of the league played patsies. One of them was a supposedly top 10 team (didn't look like one).

Who did they play?

Honestly, we shouldn't quote OOC games against G5 opponents. Tennessee was the only school that beat a decent team.

Pac12 went 13-0.
First you ask who did the SEC play and then you say the P12 went 13-0. Here are the teams they played
North Texas
Portland State
Colorado State
Hawaii
Nevada
Northern Arizona
San Jose State
Florida
Southern Utah

That’s garbage. The SEC is the best conference in all of football and it’s not close.

I only wish that "garbage" part extended to Alabama and Georgia, but it doesn't. I was able to catch a bit of Texas A&M's win over New Mexico. That's obviously not a Power 5 opponent, but the Aggies appear to have their act together now.

I think we should wait until the end of the season before making this conclusion. SEC is still king of the hill until they’re not.

That said, it would be refreshing if some of the other Power 5 conferences had more parity with the SEC. let’s see some of their end of season records when they have to run the gauntlet in the regular season.

Good post... I do feel SEC has gotten top heavy last 10 or so years. Something we criticize with the other conferences in the past.

Yeah, Auburn was impressive as well but both play Power 5 teams next week so we will see.

Then go root for another conference, loser. It was opening weekend. Every team in every conference played cupcakes.

You’re probably one of the ones sucking on coach Prime’s teet, thinking he’s the greatest thing ever because he bear a bad TCU team by 3 points, while at the same time, refusing to acknowledge the fact that Baylor got straight up whipped by a Texas St. team…..

ATM scares me, even as a home game.

SEC has 6 good matchups next week, including some road games (what was Ole Miss thinking playing at Tulane?) so we will know more this week. Regardless of what happens, my guess is an SEC team still holds the natty trophy at year end.

Good grief, let's be glad some competitive football is possible. Great game last night for a while.

That said, I admit I have had OP on ignore for a while.

The only one that did not meet expectations was LSU. The others were predicted to lose.
