SEC network starting to notice

i didn't expect a win. I don't expect wins against UF, Bama, Ole Miss, SC or Missouri either. KY and even VU are probably toss ups. What I don't dig is the sanctimonious super fan nonsensical predictions we get week after week coupled with bashing of any poster who attempts to redirect expectations to a reasonable level and then we lose and everyone suddenly jumps back on the side of reason. Let's just cut the hypocrisy, admit that this team is nowhere near ready to compete in the SEC even if it's not quite as bad as it has been lately, and see where it goes next season when there may actually be some accountability for the team's performance? Are we cheerleaders or are we somewhat knowledgeable football fans looking to have realistic discussions? This is a question to the board and not directed to you Freak.

I thought we competed very well with an SEC team last night. We didn't win (which sucks), but we did compete very well.

We were driving the ball in their territory to tie the game in 2012. Georgia ran the clock out yesterday, and didn't give us a chance to go for a game tying drive. Get it now?

Son put the shovel down and step away. You're not helping yourself.

If you can't see the difference with this year's team and those in the near past, I can't help you. This year's team passes the eyeball test. None of Dooley's teams did.

Not sure if any of you caught SEC scoreboard, but everyone was impressed with this Tennessee football team. Greg Mcilroy said he was so impressed with Worley's toughness and his leadership. Booger McFarland said he took more away from how UT played than Georgia. This team has tons of fight and it will playoff sooner rather than later. Soon my friends...soon

Playoffs?... you talkin about playoffs?

my suggestion then for you is to log off of Vol Nation and come back next year. You've obviously given up on this team in 2014.

Yes. We look better this year. But this game isn't necessarily a good measuring stick like people are saying.

Dooley played them closer in Athens 2 years ago with less defnsive talent and they had Aaron Murray at the helm also...didn't go to a bowl game then either. Just saying...

Post less.

Freak,

I think the reaction is that we saw the fight in the team and thought that effort should have won the game. The concern has to do with the ignorance our offensive staff has about top defenses and our line vulnerabilities. You have to set up protections to keep from having bad plays like that fumble in the end zone. The fly sweep against OU when OU is a faster team on defense. Just does not make any sense from a basic football stand point.

Even Paul Finebaum tweeted "Now that was impressive Tennessee" Tracey Wolfson of CBS tweeting that she knew CBJ was going to " turn around the program" And Chris Fowler tweets "I know UT not content with moral W's but young Vols showed admirable fight again. Not surprised after what I saw at OU".

The storm is comming and we will be back soon ! Everyone is starting to jump on the bandwagon now.

Finebaum tweeting a compliment, now that is as scary as Adams tweeting one.

So you're one of these "win now!!!" posters who lack the ability to put anything in context or see the improvement from year 1 to year 2 or from game to game. Posting garbage like this just shows your low football IQ.

better play calling and we would have...there is a difference between losing because you are out talented, and losing because you are out coached. and although we were out talented, we were in a position short of offensive play calling.

Our offensive play calling scored more points than their offensive play calling did. Without the defensive 7 pts they got.....we win. Give back the 16 mins we lost Whorley in the third Qtr, we win by 14.

There were a couple of head scratcher calls, but the play calling in general worked. It is not in the least what cost us that game.
