SEC Network Updates ?

Crazy idea: Instead of assigning MBA students to think up catchy slogans, how about charging less?

Charging less isn't an option. The financial model of the league is based on the revenues this things will bring.

Bottom line is, the SEC Network isn't going to agree to take less money than the BigTen and Pac 12 are getting from their networks. Why would it?

The SEC knows its fans better than the cable companies do. They know the majority of their fans will dump a provider that doesn't have the network for one that will.

The SEC network just needs to launch an app or browser-based solution, just like MLB.tv, and charge me $150/year for access.

Boom. Problem solved.

Seems cable companies are playing harder to get than they used to. Ask the Weather Channel.

I would not assume carriers are going to change their business strategy just because a few fans complain.

I will drop Comcast in a heartbeat if they don't carry the SEC Network. It's up to them to decide if that is better or worse for their bottom line. If it doesn't increase their profit margins, then I would not expect them to carry. I'd be disappointed if they did, in fact. Same goes for SEC/ESPN. I assume they will settle on a model that will maximize profits, whether that means higher prices/fewer carriers, or vice versa. That's how business works. It isn't personal.
