How much more evidence do you all need? I don't believe that Mike Slime has told the officials to make sure that these 2 teams make it, I think it is kind of just an unsaid understanding within the conference.

So the officials are doing this? Not sure if their payday goes up if the 2 teams win. I would stick to the orders coming from top if you are claiming conspiracy.

come on. With a field goal kicker, AL has a loss at home to us. The two horrendous replay calls are tough to fathom, but it happens far more often than it should.

About as much as I believe in the ESPN conspiracy. Rubbish, it's pure incompetence.

I think there is incompetence also, but this LSU no int. call confirmed it for me, I did not really buy it until this game. This one was reviewed and it was clearly an int.

I think its just kind of a unspoken rule, make sure these teams get there. And I don't think its just because its Florida and Bama. I think its just because either of these teams could play for the NC and the other goes to the Sugar Bowl. The SEC stands to make a whole lot more $ with 2 teams in BCS bowl games.

I saw something interesting that said that Julio was out of bounds and touched the ball before PP had full possession which made the play dead at that point. I would hate to be the ref in that situation it was a lose lose. I believe no matter the outcome of that play someone would have said the refs messed it up.

Wrong.

That's just the Bammers most recent attempt to justify the call.

Reminiscent of Sgt. Schultz from Hogan's Heroes: "I SEE nutting, I HEAR nutting, I KNOW nutting". Komrade Slive's Propaganda Ministry has spoken.

I had a bama fan try and tell me he had to tuck the ball for him to have control. I pretty sure if I can control a football without it being tucked surly a D-1 football player can. I the ref are just plan horrible all around the SEC this year. I was much happier with the C-USA crew from this weekend.

It's only a matter of time before a full-blown investigation starts.

This is getting ridiculous.

There is no conspiracy here. It's just a rash of incompetence. Florida-loving Mike Slive still stinks, though . . . unrelated to the bad officating.:D

went 4-1 on my picks this week because of these asshat officials. had LSU as a 9 point dog. gotta love a push and not getting a $100 weekly pot.

I believe its not a full-out conspiracy, but I think there is an "understanding" the SEC absolutely wants UF-Bama undefeated in the SEC Title game. But in defense, they are the best two teams in the league. So its not like we are getting USClite and Arkansas or something.

Definitely not so. The ball just has to be controlled. Remember Prothro's catch vs Florida a few years back when Bama beat the snot out of them? He pinned the ball against his helmet but the catch was good. I can catch it with one hand and hold it like a loaf of bread as long as I control it. I don't blame the field officials, but the booth REALLY blew this one.

SEC not planning to comment on non-interception play from Alabama-LSU game
By Gentry Estes, Mobile Press-Register
November 09, 2009, 10:58AM

The Southeastern Conference office will not have a public statement on the controversial non-interception replay call in the fourth quarter of Alabama's Saturday victory over LSU, according to league spokesman Charles Bloom.

The league said it instead will communicate directly with LSU about the play.

Tigers cornerback Patrick Peterson appeared to intercept a Greg McElroy sideline pass near the six-minute mark of Saturday's game, which would have given LSU possession while trailing by six points.

Officials on the field ruled the pass incomplete, and a league replay official did not find conclusive video evidence to overturn that decision. Alabama retained possession and kicked a field goal to push the lead to nine points.

As the latest in a series of controversial calls in the SEC this season, this play has generated lots of debate in the aftermath of Alabama's SEC West-clinching win.

After further review, the replay official is blind! However, I don't buy into the conspiracy theories. I just think that some of the officials are intimidated by Bama and Florida.
