But isn't that what Gainey, Dubar, and Boswell did lol?
In a number of those Boswell was unavailable due to injuries and same for Boswell as well as personal reasons…not saying there weren’t a few games they could have squeezed a few more minutes for those guys, but they also haven’t been available for multiple games. There were countless opportunities to play Dubar and Boswell in a few of these pre-conference games. I would feel more confident heading into SEC play if our experienced depth was more than 7 players.
With SEC play coming up I figured I would make a thread just for it. I know it's early, but Lunardi has 13 teams in as of now. 9 teams #8 seed or higher.
SEC play is going to be brutal this year!
I have a hard time seeing this many teams getting in. Some of these teams like Texas and Missouri will likely have 6-12 sec records or worse. Even though the conference is loaded, will the selection committee really give these teams the nod if they don’t get to 20 wins?I count 10 8 seed or higher on that list 13 total.
1 Auburn and UT
2 Alabama and Florida
3 Kentucky
4 A&M and Miss State
5 Oklahoma
6 Ole Miss
8 UGA
9 Arkansas
11 Texas Missou 11 (last 4 in)
Vandy first 4 out
LSU next 4 out.
USCe are the only ones not on the chart. That would be nuts but I don't think it works out that way these teams all have to play one another multiple times. Kinda crazy to thing the SEC is now a better basketball conference than the ACC we pretty much dominate all the sports that matter. Baseball, Football both sides of Basketball.
I agree totally but.. since every team in the SEC already has at least 10-13 wins getting to 20 isn't that impossible for most. 7-9 wins is enough for most teams to hit 20 wins and that's doable for at least 10-12 teams. I think it comes down to the top teams that play each other twice trading losses which pulls down the net rating overall? I think the SEC gets more teams in than any other conference but not 13 maybe 10-12I have a hard time seeing this many teams getting in. Some of these teams like Texas and Missouri will likely have 6-12 sec records or worse. Even though the conference is loaded, will the selection committee really give these teams the nod if they don’t get to 20 wins?
Yeah, I missed one when counting 8 and above.I have a hard time seeing this many teams getting in. Some of these teams like Texas and Missouri will likely have 6-12 sec records or worse. Even though the conference is loaded, will the selection committee really give these teams the nod if they don’t get to 20 wins?
You don't think we beat any ranked team on the road? Surely we beat 1. Probably drop another one we shouldn't tho, so that might get you to that 12-6. I'd like to think we are at least 13-5 good. This is reasonable. We play 11 of 18 games against current ranked teams, 6 of which are on the road, which is nuts.
I’ll take 12-6 with no significant injuries going into the SEC tournament.
After today I believe we will be the only undefeated team. Drake lost, UF is at UK and OU is at Bama while we’re at home to Arkansas. Also, there are only 4 teams in the country with 1 loss outside of the SEC while the SEC has 3 unbeaten and 4 1-loss teams. I’ve never seen anything like it.One other thing of note is SEC has 3 of the 4 undefeated teams left in NCAA men's Division 1 basketball.
Tennessee, Florida, and Oklahoma.
Drake being the only undefeated non-SEC team.
