SEC possibly going to a single division

determining who might play for the SEC championship game would be interesting... would the SEC have their own mini-playoff, have questionable teams left out of that, or not have a championship game?

Of course we’re going to miss the boat… would be us vs Georgia playing in the SEC Champ game if this were the case right now. Just so happens the two best teams in the conference are in the same division.

I'm fine with missing UGA in SECC. Means we make it to the CFP easier...where we will possibly face them on a bigger stage.

Yeah, I can see where there's going to be years when multiple teams will finish with identical records and it will take a several layers of tie breakers to figure who goes to the championship. Head to head won't always work so they will have to create a system using common opponents, points scored, etc.

Needs to be a 4 division system, idk how else you make even schedules. I would even be for the NFL system where you play the 3 in your division twice, and then 1 from each other division based on last year's record.

unless more than 2 have the same record because of differences of schedules they have no control over

You still have control though, if you play nothing but teams that aren’t in your league, then you need to beat the brakes off them. That’s what’s so frustrating about TCU and Mich being in this conversation ahead of us, they’ve struggled with bad teams.

No conference championship hurts playoff chances in my opinion.
There will still be a championship game. With a 12 team playoff, the top 2 SEC teams would all but guaranteed to be in the playoff anyway. The championship game would be fighting for seeding and a possible bye/home game.

Players are going to be compensated similarly to their NFL counterparts before long.

How many games will teams in the playoffs be totaling?

At most, 4 if you’re seeded 5-12 and play in the championship game.

So, I expect our 3 annual Rival games to be 3rd Saturday Bama, in-state Vandy and most played rivalry Kentucky. Everyone else will be on the rotation, 6 more conference games for nine total.

Bama should be: Tennessee, Auburn and LSU
Auburn: Georgia, Bama, and Florida
Georgia: Auburn, SCAR, Florida
Florida: Georgia, Auburn, (LSU or SCAR)
