SEC possibly going to a single division

Id rather we knock out two worthless teams like Mizzou and Vandy before doing this. It works like this in basketball because there is an SEC tournament..

How about this;
1 division
9 conference games
2 non conference games
Top 6 team playoff for SEC Championship, top 2 Ranked in CFP get the bye. That's 3 SECG games! Top 4 are virtually guaranteed into the playoffs due to rankings!!!
NOTE: seeds 3-6 would be set based on wins losses, ranking AND if they played already, if they have it moves to the other team not played. Even stronger arguement to get the top 4 into the CFP!!!!

the current conference play off system seems to guarantee to knock one SEC team out of the title play offs. The SEC teams beat each other up during the regular season so it's hard enough to stay undefeated by the end of the schedule, while many teams like Clemson/Norte Dame seem to get in the play offs without playing anyone.

I think that I read in the article about Sankey saying to do away with divisions. He said that ACC,Pac12 and others have done away with divisions.Wrong!ACC has Coastal and Atlantic,Pac twelve has north and south,Big 10(cannot count)has east and west division.

So, I expect our 3 annual Rival games to be 3rd Saturday Bama, in-state Vandy and most played rivalry Kentucky. Everyone else will be on the rotation, 6 more conference games for nine total.

Bama should be: Tennessee, Auburn and LSU
Auburn: Georgia, Bama, and Florida
Georgia: Auburn, SCAR, Florida
Florida: Georgia, Auburn, (LSU or SCAR)

We ought not have to play Alabama, Georgia and Florida every year

pac12 got room d of North / south. Now just two best teams. Same as big12. ACC has been discussing the same thing.

The Big Ten should follow this as well. Having Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Michigan State in one division is stupid in a conference that doesn’t have much depth. The Big Ten West (Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, Minnesota, Northwestern, Nebraska, and Wisconsin) might be the worst division in Power 5 conference football.

I still say go back to 11 game regular seasons with no conference championship games. Run a 16 team playoffs with 15-20-ish bowl games for everyone else and be done with it.

If you finish #17 you didn’t get it right.
