From Warren Nolan, the final standings prediction
First in the East and 2nd overall
Miss St is on a run and they should not lose another game. At least no more than 1 as they close with Mizzou next week and Bama the next.

Whats the tie breaker? I would assume head to head and then overall record?

Interestingly enough, the SEC pre-season coaches poll had Tennessee as 3rd in the East, but 7th overall. The coaches had Florida, Vandy, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss State and LSU with more votes than the Vols. As of right now, we are tied for best SEC record in the conference. This team plays full throttle between the lines.

2020 was a "what might have been" season, but this Tennessee team is stronger, faster, & has more depth in the lineup.

In a recent interview with Wilkerson, one of our guys (I forgot which one) said that while they missed having teammates Crouchet and Soularie this year, they still felt like they had a strong team and were committed to taking the baton and picking up where things left off last season.

Boy, have they ever! I'm soaking up every minute of this.

The fact that Tennessee is even in the conversation for a Top 8 national seed and potential Super Regional host is surreal at times. This is light years from where the program was merely 4 years ago. All credit to the coaching staff and team for their dedication and hard work.

Hope they keeping rolling for as long as they can!

So, looks like we're well on our way to sweeping the Tigers. We will at worst be tied atop the SEC at the end of the day, potentially be in sole possession of first if Arkansas doesn't come back against Georgia.

Can you believe it? The fact that we go into next weekend against Arkansas controlling our own destiny is wild. I still think we'll probably lose the series 1-2, but the fact that we have a CHANCE to win the whole SEC with two weekends to go is remarkable. No matter what happens, what an incredible season. Considering the talent gap between us and teams like Vandy, Arkansas, and Miss State it's been a special year. I hope we can make a post-season run and finish this season off right.

Very happy with the direction of Vol baseball, but concerned that Missouri may be looking for a new coach after this year, and of course Vitello is a Missouri grad. Need to be prepared to give him and assistants big raises to try to keep them here. GBO.

If Missouri does look for a new head coach, I don't think we need to be concerned about CV headed back to CoMo. The previous Missouri AD and administration passed over him the last time around when they chose the current coach. Missed opportunity on their part.

Other schools will undoubtedly come calling. AD White has already started talks with CV about the future of the program and what the needs are to keep competitive.
