Seriously...at least let something negative happen first. The man hasn't even started Fall practice, much less coach his first game here, and folks are already setting criteria to put him on a hot seat and fire him. Man, some folks need a new hobby

Oh for the sake of biscuits, save the drama.
A school hires a new coach and the fans have the nerve to discuss success or failure and signs of each.

I swear if some of the post police had their way, this would be our board-

1."This hire, good"

2."Yes, good hire"

3. "Agreed, good. Shall we discuss Bron and MJ?"

1. "Yes, let's"

LOL, I agree with you, and certainly didn't intend drama. Discussion over good vs bad hire is understandable. The point that seemed a bit excessive was Hillbilly wanting to set a bar to put Pruitt on a Hot Seat ready to be fired by 2019.

Also...LOVE some biscuits!!!

Haha 😂
I know but the amount of time will have nothing to do with message boards. I was patient with the last coach for far too long.
I don't want to let myself get suckered into going back on what I know is true.

If he doesn't do better than .500 in year 2, it's time to prep myself.
Same as if he wins 8 this year, I'm buying in 100%

We're on the same page here. I just enjoy being optimistic for each new season. Time will tell it's own story.

Being born in ‘95 I got to experience some of the golden days of UT football but ever since 2008 it’s really been a drag and I just want to get back with TN being in the conversation on a annual basis. I know every offseason we hear that positive things are going on but what really separates this time from previous ones is i know for a fact the staff that Pruitt got with him is legit. Recruiting is going start off slow. No recruit especially this generation is going to want to go to a school that won only 4 games. Unless they have UT ties they’re not gonna know much about us and it’s sad how far our brand has fallen.

If u were born in '95, u didn't get to enjoy the golden age of Vols football unless u can remember games when u were 1 thru 6 and that's not including the Neyland and Dickey years.

I was born in 82 and remember many good years. It all went down hill when we fired Fulmer. Every hire since then with the exception of Lane Kiffen (I just threw up a bit) was laughable. Hiring Dooley and Jones would have never happened under a competent administration.

Pruitt is the real deal. Everyone needs to relax. The man knows how to win and he will put the best players on the field.

With that said, we will struggle in the secondary and on the offensive/Defensive lines this year. We just dont have the depth to get through our schedule. I see 7 wins but a bowl game.

I also believe we beat WV. The Vols will be healthy and I believe Pruitt will put together a solid secondary until we have injuries.

Pruitt understand the games are won in the trenches. Fulmers the last coach we had that truly understood that. I'm excited to see we are recruiting big Offensive lineman. That's where we can turn the tide. Go Vols

The first thing my dad sat me down to watch was the ‘98 fiesta bowl and I vividly remember that...as growing up in the mid 2000s we were always part of the discussion no matter what and teams feared to play us. I remember the Casey clauses teams, a young Erik singe and Brent Schafer battling it outThat’s what I hope we get back to.

Still think Pruitt slides in the top 5, he can oversell a vision and early playing time, still plenty of meat on that bone. For the big fish, I do think he will need to pull an upset this year to show potential, I’m still going with Auburn. They have not had back to back 10 win seasons and a matter of fact, when they do win 10+, they avg 3 less wins the next year, not like they are sliding down to 9 wins. UGA’s “avg” will go up after tomorrow night. UT’s will go up towards early NSD when the big fish start announcing.

Top 5 is pushing it a bit imo. Top 10 would be great given where we are currently and with only a handful of highly rated guys left that we’re pursuing who can really move the needle a significant number of spots.
