SEC refs reprimanded?

Officiating is bad in every conference and even in the NFL. People need to stop complaining about it. Nothing is ever going to be done about it. Holding is ALWAYS going to be missed a ton in each game.

THEN it comes down to the equity of calls defined by the distribution of those calls on each team. Always hear that numbers don’t lie. When multiple calls are made against only one team and there is video evidence of multiple MISSES on the other, it needs to be shared on the web WIN OR LOSE.

Won’t resolve the question of competency vs integrity for a single game, but trend analysis COULD for an individual or a crew. Whether or not it factored in the game outcome.

So you were okay with the bottle throwing at Texas leading to a changed call? No reason to complain about that?

No. Because something was actually done about it. But let’s be honest, do you really think anything is gonna get done about officiating? No. And even if it did improve, refs are still gonna miss tons of calls every game. Some Vol fans just like to believe we get more bad calls against us. I mean it happened every game, when we play bad. But when we are playing good and dominating? Crickets.

We will get better officiating when we start having our officials scored by a service that does this. The players are scored at their positions and often the scores published the day after the game. SEC officials should be scored as well and their performances published. Things that do not get measured do not improve.

Agree. People have been moaning about officiating before replay was ever a thought, and even with replay it hasn't improved and likely never will. I'm not even sure paying full time officials would make a huge difference.

One thing I do believe is that if they're going to have replay, then really use it instead of having these egregious missed calls that are "not reviewable". Everything should be reviewable, at the very least penalties like pass interference that can change games. If they actually want to remove the doubts of many that the games are clean, then allow these calls to be reviewed, and get the damn reviews right.

I watched parts of most SEC games this week but I never saw the crew who did Ga-Texas or Tenn-Alabama. Strange considering they were highly rated to get those games the week before.
They were officiating the UGA Florida game.

they call the most flags per game then any other officiating unit. They must be who the sec sends in when they need the points to go a certain way .

A wise man might call that “correlation”. Maybe the officiating has a direct relationship to performance.
