Yea, he needs to retire before it all blows up in his face. Get the hell out of Tuscaloosa and go enjoy life in an area worth retiring to.........
Bammer boys are all mad at work today. Probably gonna be some fires tonight. They are sending a U-haul truck over to his house this afternoon.

My best friend's brains were blown all over my face, and I'm not homeless.

Sorry for your loss. Clearly you misread my post. It wasn't about YOU. It's interesting these days how people of all walks insist on taking a statement as a personal affront. Again, sorry for your lost, and thank you for your service.

I didn't misread it. My response wasn't clear. I was trying to say I wasn't ashamed of my post.

If that's the case, I misread your post. I guess this is another indication of how fallible we humans are. AW! I ought to know that already know that already. Just look at what often happens when weather forecasters open their mouths.

Don't say that. Saban's beneath those people, because unfortunately, a good number of them are war veterans to our shame. Saban was more like a crumb hunting rat.
I agree with the gist of your message, less one point. I work with the homeless (houseless) and most of those claiming to be vets are simply using the claim as a tool to get sympathy. If you actually talk to them, you find that they have never served, were never qualified and quite frankly are violating federal law in claiming the status to enhance their income.

I'm somewhat familiar with the fringes of the business. If you are truly a vet, with the training you received, the gov't will find you a job. On the applications, you are priority # 1. It is clearly flagged.

There are always those who muddy the waters for everyone else. My reference is the fact we have so many vets living on the streets or in shelters. The shame is on our nation for not caring for those who served, came home, and through combat related factors, discrimination, wrecked marriages, or whatever and found themselves resourceless. They just kept hitting the walls of bureaucracy, so left without viable options. More recent studies on this seem to show that while things have generally gotten better, many still fall through the cracks.

Now, about the fakers, we do have filtering processes that weed out these people. But some clever/professional fakers do get through, they are slippery. But it's getting harder and penalties for those caught are quite severe, and atop that is the social stigma for such parasites.

While still not great, I think it has improved from the Vietnam vets to the Iraq / Afghanistan groups.
