Ambles has been late to meetings , but you can bet that what made him late to the meetings won't be reported. Not yet anyway. Not until he transfers.

He's missed a few meetings, and slipped up on some grades from what I'm hearing. It's not like it's anything bad, and as warrior said, he might be redshirted anyways.

Ambles will be fine.

How many 4 and 5*'s have won Heisman's, won various awards, and been named to all-American teams?

At the end of the day, what matters is if you can help your team win. Awards, all-American honors, and awards mean jack squat. True, the individuals who win these awards help their team win better than other individuals help their team win, but last time anyone checked, football is a TEAM sport. This translates to the fact that it does not matter how many stars a player has, if they can be a part of the team and play their hearts out and help the team win, then they deserve those awards. The only difference is doing those three things better than others.

Football is a team sport. But you need at least some elite talent on the field to be competitive where we want to be.

For all of you that your only concern is that DD is only getting commitments from 3 star players here is a quote regarding Rivals Rankings:

""Three-star guys also means we project NFL potential and for them to be a multi-year starter," Crabtree explained. "There's a lot of three-star guys that end up doing quite well ... If they are half an inch short, get them in the right system, get them with the right coach, they end up being great football players."

This is a building block class. This class should provide a bunch of very good, serviceable players at positions of need and perhaps a few future stars. It's a good start and given the state of the program about as much as can be expected. With a full year of relationship building with HS Juniors and if he can build some momentum on the field next season, that should position us for grabbing some higher profile prospects.

Short of some fantasy coach that was never available, I think we're doing about as good as possible given the situation presented.
