MSU has 2 problems. One it is in Starkville, an armpit of the South. Two, it is in Mississippi. Besides the coast, only Oxford holds any beauty in the state of Mississippi, IMO.

The NCAA doesn't award championships for FBS football. They do have a list of recognized titles out there, but it's as arguable as anything else.

Claiming those is no different than claiming an AP title. AP didn't exist prior to 1936. In the end, a selector awards a title to Team X. Team X chooses whether to claim that title or not. '50 UK is a bad claim. So are '41 Bama and '67 UT.

'50 UK is a bad claim, because the system that awarded it did not exist in 1950. Sagarin "awarded" it in the '90s, I think.

That's my criteria; the true champion(s) is whoever was crowned by the system(s) that was in place and recognized at the time.

Anything Bama or UT has first claimed years after the actual seasons are just as bogus as '50 UK. Or, was it '51 UK? Not sure.
