Offtopic but why are the major brewing companies considered a micro brew? Isn't a microbrew a smaller companied-beer?

It's somewhat of a subjective term. Microbrews tend to produce limited quantities of each of their beers and usually only have one brew site. But generally, any beer that's not made by Anheiser-Busch, Michelob, etc., big corporate companies is considered a microbrew.

And keep in mind the vast majority of bigger microbrews still come from only one brewery (Sweetwater, Magic Hat, New Belgium, etc.). Even Sam Adams Boston Lager is considered a microbrew because they're all brewed in Boston.

Too bad for the Vols, a blow out loss to UF could keep them out of the NCAA Tournament.

That's not negativity, that's reality, this team has done nothing to prove they are worthy of the NCAA tournament except beat Virginia by 35.

19 wins (beating that private school from Greenville doesn't count) with this roster is a huge disappointment regardless if they are finally playing the way they should have been playing all season.

Beating UF and making the SEC Championship game would make them worthy IMHO. They have the ability to beat UF, and now is the time to prove they are worthy!

Either way if this team does barely make it in, they will have to make the sweet 16 for the season not to be considered a huge disappointment.

Are you always this miserable? :lolabove:

"The Vols don't deserve to make the Big Dance."

"Who cares what Lunardi says...the Vols MUST beat Florida in the SECT to get in the Big Dance."

"And if by chance we DO make the Big Dance and fail to make the Sweet 16, this team is a colossal failure."

I can't drink cheap beer anymore...Can't remember the last time I had a Bud Light, Yueng Ling, etc.

Yuengling isn't bad. One of the better cheaper beers. I can't have too many microbrews. Too many calories and not good for the ol' health.

Florida was one of three conference unbeatens, to go with Stephen F. Austin and Wichita State, and not surprisingly the Gators are favored to win the SEC tournament. But how can we not devote most of the words here to Tennessee, the ultimate paradox in basketball?

John Calipari should know that if I had my way, the Vols would be the most analyzed team in the history of the game. In SEC play they had the best per-possession numbers on both offense and defense among schools not located in Florida. A decent share of those good numbers was piled up in mauling of fellow conference opponents. Only one of Tennessee’s 11 SEC wins was by single-digits, and only one of their seven conference losses was by double-digits. The Vols have won their last three by a combined 93 points.

Yet people are so down on Tennessee that they’re not even a lock for the NCAA tournament at this moment. However, people are high on Tennessee when defending Wichita State’s schedule. See, the defenders say, Tennessee is so good they beat Virginia by over 30 points. But people are down on Tennessee when criticizing Wichita State’s schedule, too. See, the critics say, Tennessee got swept by lowly Texas A&M. There are a lot of contradictory signals here.

With Bruce Pearl’s show cause penalty set to expire in August, most Vols fans seem to want their coach fired, so they wouldn’t mind an early loss here which might send Tennessee to the NIT. As for me, I’d welcome either a deep run in the tournament or a trip to the NIT. The former would be another example about how we all suck at evaluating coaches. The latter could lead to an NIT champ being rated higher than the NCAA champ. Those two possibilities may be the only way Tennessee could top a very unusual regular season.

i do have a gut feeling that says florida does not win the sec tournament.

With the #1 seed locked up, I hope they play the rest card and mail it in after their first game. Regardless of if they're the #1 overall or not, they don't have any advantage to be gained by location. Arizona will get the LA regional, and WSU will get the Indy regional. In fact, if I were UF, I'd rather play in NYC than Memphis. Easier for their fans to get to and the NY/Fla connection is pretty strong.

I agree. If I go cheap, I usually go with Yuengling. Sometimes, we go with Michelob Ultra if we drink a few, but I would prefer not to. You do have to watch drinking the micros with the calories.

in 2007, florida was the #1 seed in the midwest regional because that regional was in st. louis and the south regional was in san antonio, tx.

it made sense (when syracuse was a #1 seed) to have florida in the south, but like you, i would prefer florida be in the east and go to new york than be in the south and go to memphis.

either way, it's a trip. i am just happy there is finally a regional in the state of florida this year. always jealous of carolina and duke who never, ever have to leave the state until the round of 16. with tampa, orlando, miami, you'd think the state of florida would have more tournament action in the state, but we don't.

i would like to win the sec tournament just because it's another accomplishment that would be nice to have. but, honestly, i don't care that much.

i don't know how the team will feel. honestly, i expect them to take it seriously.

1. they'd like to accomplish 21-0.

2. they still are a little pissed about losing to ole miss in last year's final.

3. it's something that this group hasn't done. i'm sure they'd like to add that to their resume as a senior class to what they have accomplished.

but, me, personnally.....not a big deal. especially, since i believe what you said is true. florida can lose game 1 by 20 and they are still going to get a 1 seed.
