SEC Tournament Semifinals, Tennessee vs. Kentucky Official Game Thread

Lol, yeah. It's fun to see this rivalry growing in intensity. So much bad blood between the two programs right now, makes it fun for fans.

had to come and enjoy the crying a little, huh Brian? Well, it was a great adjustment for you guys on defense from the last game. The second half is inexplicable. I think we got super frustrated & your guys didn't. In reality, on average, I'd say you guys are about a consistent 10 pts. better than us. But enjoy..hope you'll understand my strong desire for you guys to get bumped off early in the tourney. You're just Memphis in KY jerseys anyway...:)

Several big stats from the box score tell the tale. I think we'll do OK in the NCAA tourney. Maybe better than a lot think. Good job by the officials. They earned their (side) money today.

What is your definition of "Deep", I think we go out in the second round and I do not have any idea what our draw will be...

Maybe, but I think we are a much better team on a neutral court with non-sec officials. We are one of the bigger teams in the country. Usually teams like us make it to the sweet 16, sometimes the elite 8. But seldom the final 4, because of the lack of guards that can hit shots to win close games. I think we make the 16, but anything more would be a miracle.

Two things today that made UK unbeatable today.
1. They lite it up from 3 point range. Those 3 -3's after the Williams lay-up made it an 6 point game was just too much.
2. Chism & Williams in early foul trouble.

If the Cats can play like this they will win it all. But I doubt they can. They'll never have another outside shooting game like this again.

I dont think we'll be playing them

and unless we end up playing this season's cinderella george mason-esque team, we're going to make it past whatever team we play in the first round
UT should hope it does not grab a 4 seed and draw Murray State in the first round.

By the way.... I've heard commentators for the last 3 days talk about how CBP had to "adjust his defensive pressure" because of his personel. They made it sound like our half court defense was a last resort. Is this not Bruce's fault? I think he's a great coach, but we have ZERO guards, and it's not because of injuries or disciplinary problems. It's because Bruce didn't recruit guards during or after Chris Loften/Jajuan Smith left. Perhaps I'm wrong though.

Watch KY come out taking 3's early in the shot clock against Vandy in the Final after getting some confidence today. If they make them they look like a NC like today, if not Vandy will beat them

He recruited Hopson and two juco guards, to be fair. It's just hard to replace Lofton (that's with an "o" by the way) and J. Smith.

He's not GOOD at defense. He just plays hard. Let's not mix the two. Talent vs. Heart. Having them both make's you dangerous.

Why do you think Chism played 36 minutes yesterday? Answer, because we only have Pearl and Hall behind him. Pearl gets minutes because he's all we got. Any debate about his ability misses the real point. We have NO DEPTH IN THE BACK COURT! :banghead2:

I understand we don't have the depth we would like, but I would much rather have Woolridge in over Pearl. Hell, Pearl comes in before Hall. When he is on the court we are playing 4 against 5. I agree he tries hard and I wish more of our players had his determination, but should Stephen Pearl get that many minutes?

he tried to; it's hard though to find someone as good as lofton at shooting threes so well (I think we were all hoping Hopson would be originally)

At this point Woolridge won't/can't bang, more of a wing player and Hall does not have Pearl's basketball sense so he's out of position alot. Pearl fought Patterson pretty good today and didn't get lite up by a much better player. Until Tyler Smith got "fired" how many minutes did Pearl get? Not many. You can argue he should get fewer minutes but IMO neither Woolridge or Hall is the answer. If Hall improves with experience and Woolridge gets bigger and tougher, Pearls minutes will decrease.
