The LVs have the third seed -

with two games left and ALAbama loss to Miss State all things being "normal" alabama and ole Miss will play each other on their last game for the fourth seed.

teams that are hot at present are Georgia, Miss State and Ole Miss. should be a good tourney

Note: don't expect Ky will repeat.

2 vs 3 matchups in LSU vs. TN would be a great matchup and boost to our NCAA seed line.

While I've not attended SEC tourneys for many years, I would always recommend one game at a time.
Gotta get the tix early though….Something tells me this will be a tourney to be remembered….So many disrespected teams in the polls from this conference. 7 Tourney worthy teams that will battle. Must see TV if you cannot be there.

So, if I have calculated this correctly, on Friday night we'll play the winner of the (6) vs. (14) Kentucky/(11)Vandy game.

This was earlier this afternoon. Looks like the 11/14 Matchup is set with 11 Florida vs 14 UK. The 6 seed is still in flux. It will be Mississippi State if they knock off LSU (currently down 36-30 at half). If LSU loses, it's going to push a three-way tie for 5th with M. State, Alabama, and UGA and I have no idea how that tie-break is settled.

This is correct according to the Columbia, SC local paper: https://www.thestate.com/sports/col...a/usc-womens-basketball/article272609180.html

Florida did just beat Alabama, and Florida was one of Kentucky's only 2 SEC wins, so who knows who we'll end up playing. Alabama has lost 3 in a row and could really use the win over Florida/Kentucky.

Her Hoop Stats has us a 71-68 favorite over Alabama on a neutral court. Massey has it 73-68. Definitely can't be looking ahead to a potential LSU rematch (as exciting as that would be). LSU also shouldn't overlook a potential rematch with Georgia on a neutral court, that could be a good one.

This is all I can find:

"How does a 3 way tie work in the SEC?"

B. In the event of a three-way tie, the won-loss records of the tied teams against each other is first considered (i.e., head to head concept). If the teams are still tied, then each team's record against the highest seeded team not involved in the tie is considered.

M. State would be (1-1) , beat Alabama, lost to Georgia
UGA would be (1-1) beat M. State, and lost to Alabama
Alabama would be (1-1), beat Georgia, and lost to M. State

That would take us to the second step of the tie-break... where all three lost to the 1 seed.

LOL I can't find the third tie break.

Here's additional tie break info.
  1. Best winning percentage of the tied teams versus the No. 1 seed (and proceed- ing through the No. 14 seed, if necessary).
All 3 teams lost to the 1 seed and 2 seeds. M. State went 1-1 against the 3 seed (TN), GA and Alabama were 0-1 against us. So I think M. State would be the 5th seed, Alabama would then own the tie break over GA so they would indeed be the 6 seed, GA 7 seed.

UT will play the winner of the Bama vs UK/Vandy game.

Yeah, lol, I knew that…brain fart. We should get to see UT vs LSU rematch on neutral court…fun!
So excited about that! (The rematch, not the fart). Not to overdramatize, but that game may be pivotal for Kellie Harper's career. It's yet another winnable big game in a huge setting. Winning it would repair some of the NCAA seeding harm she did with the overschedule, possibly even giving us home games in the first round. Really increases chances of a post season run.

I know there's a tune up game first, but, dang, maybe I'll check ticket prices.

Florida beat Alabama by four last week. Alabama if hot , and they are a three-point team. .378 240-639 . Florida the Lady Vols played early. Alabama will be in the NCAA FLorida most-likely not . One and advance and I'm sure the LadyVols will come to play. Obviously playing Florida would be preference given it will be their third game.

I’m being devils advocate: tamari next season would you or no come back to Tennessee? If not where would she go.

Just guessing but a WNBA team would probably give her a look, assuming she is healthy. Overseas a good possibility. What was her major, maybe she wants to step away from playing? She has a lot of options including coming back.

Anyone think OM or MSU could knock off SC for us? SC is due for one of those games where everything goes wrong. Might be better for them too to get that out of the way before the NCAAT.

We could knock them off if we could play a consistent 40 minutes and they have a poor perimeter shooting day. That is what is going to need to happen for anyone to beat them because of their rebounding and second chance points. Of course we have a lot of work to do to get to them. I hope we can win the first two games would probably mean playing at home in the NCAA.

Both of them gave SC a tussle at home, but I can't see that happening in Greenville.

MSST, despite getting trounced by LSU yesterday, is looking good now that they have a healthy roster (for the key players at least). If they are seeded away from the #1s/2s for opening weekend, I could see them pulling an upset.

If they have a poor perimeter shooting day AND their post game doesn't dominate. Tennessee's post game doesn't match up with theirs, even when they aren't at their best.
