Huh?They could hold out Ole Miss, Georgia, and Bama and sneak us in between the winner of A&M and Texas. They could tell Tennessee, if you want the playoffs, you have to win the SEC out right. The trick would be, since Texas is a lock, we will just leave Ole Miss, Georgia, and Bama out, so they can automatically get into the playoffs without playing another big game. Tennessee would be stunned. I don’t know if they would do that, but to bamboozle us, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
The Michigan AD that is head of the committee said on ESPN tonight that the committee would use championship games in their evaluation. That’s not a direct statement saying losing would hurt you, but it’s not a direct denial of that either. The committee isn’t going to punish the SECCG loser. Nor should they.
I’m certainly not trolling, and I don’t think it’s delusional to think this way. Y’all may have a different scenario on the way it is going to play out, but I’m just thinking what the SEC could do to save some teams. Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss. Texas is a lock already, so it’s not as crazy to think how they could work this thing to put us in there.D. All of the above(?)
Exactly! The SEC can do what they want to do, and slip us in there the way they want to.And I’m not saying they will put us in there, but we’ve seen teams screwed before, right? The Michigan AD that is head of the committee said on ESPN tonight that the committee would use championship games in their evaluation. That’s not a direct statement saying losing would hurt you, but it’s not a direct denial of that either.
What idea???I will stop for now, but I didn’t come up with this idea. Someone with good knowledge came up with it. He was just looking at the SEC in general. They could put us in, to make us win it. If we lose, then we would be out. That is the SEC trick reverse play that he and others came up with. It doesn’t mean that they’ll do it, but I’m just cautioning it.
If Texas loses to Texas A&M or the SEC Championship, they could get eliminated. Worse resume out of the 5 SEC teams. Texas needs the automatic bid of winning the SEC to be a true lock.Simply because the want Bama, Georgia, and Ole Miss in the playoffs. Texas is a lock. Tennessee would have to play their mind out to win the SECCG, to get in.
Sankey is so in love with his new Texas toy, that he gave them the easiest schedule in the SEC to assure they were in SECCG and CFP and you think he is going to screw them now? They only had to play UGA and that was at home. They could hold out Ole Miss, Georgia, and Bama and sneak us in between the winner of A&M and Texas. They could tell Tennessee, if you want the playoffs, you have to win the SEC out right. The trick would be, since Texas is a lock, we will just leave Ole Miss, Georgia, and Bama out, so they can automatically get into the playoffs without playing another big game. This is utter insanity. Your idea is that the SEC hates us so much that they’re going to throw out their rule book to force us into our first SEC Championship game in 17 years, giving us a chance to clinch a playoff spot when we are on the outside looking in, and all of that is a punishment in your eyes? They could hold out Ole Miss, Georgia, and Bama and sneak us in between the winner of A&M and Texas.
