Don't forget he also shared a driving range with Kenny Perry.

Want to bet who graduated more players? Since I'm sure none of the Pearlophiles know these things, I'll do a little education. In those calculations, graduating a junior college player doesn't count. Graduating a player who transfers in from another four year school doesn't count. A guy who leaves school early for the pros, then returns to get his degree doesn't count(unless he somehow graduates within five years of enrollment). Thus, a program that has a number of guys who fit any of those categories is going to get shredded by those numbers. Hmm, Van Exel, Blount, Eric Martin, Anthony Buford, Danny Fortson, Dermarr Johnson...So then what hatvol said here:
is pretty much BS, like everything else he says. Good to know.
Pearl can't have a graduation rate yet. Those are measured by checking on recruiting classes five years after they enroll. Thus, at the end of this semester, he'll get Childress and look brilliant at 100%. Then, next year, he'll get hit with Ramar Smith, Marques Johnson(doesn't matter if he graduates at Georgia State, you only get credit if they stay with you), Josh Tabb, Duke Crews, and Wayne Chism. I sure hope Weezy finishes up strong, otherwise, Prince Bruce will be looking at a solid 16.6% after two cycles. He had a 28% graduation rate over 16 years at Cincy. Pearl is 30% at UT.
Was browsing and saw this thread. Figure I will throw my $.01 in.
The Big ten and SEC are the two best conferences in the county bar none. Each sport has its own strengths and weaknesses. For hoops though, the BIg Ten is clearly a better conference from top to bottom. Baseball the SEC has the clear edge. Football is very close, Closer than SEC fans want to admit. Its pretty much a toos up in football from year to year. Even when the Big Ten seems down they are still putting out major NFL talent also. That being said if I were a schools looking for a conference to join, I would definitely choose the Big Ten over the SEC. The Big Ten Network makes the schools soooo much damn money its not even funny. Also, the schools in the Big Ten are mostly reseach institutions and have a much better academis reputation as a whole.
Advantage Big Ten, sorry SEC.:good!:

National Championships:
SEC -- (17)
Big 12 (16)
Big Ten -- (13)
ACC -- (9)
Pac-10 -- (4)
Big East -- (3)
Try Again. :nono:
*Also, the SEC has 4 straight, no other (football) conference has ever done that.
pretty sure that was his intent (at least I hope so)
Should have saved the $.01.Was browsing and saw this thread. Figure I will throw my $.01 in.

One thing for sure, the BIG 11 stomps a mud hole in the SEC's rear end when it comes to having the ugliest chicks.

Now before I get into this more I wnat you guys to know where I'm coming from. I live in Big Ten country, but my faminy is from tennessee and my dad played football for UT back in the day. I love the SEC and the Big Ten, so my opinions are not biased just factual. With that said, can someone answer this question. Why do so many in vol nation and the SEC put so much stock in recruiting?? I know that you cant win without the players but you guys go nuts over a whether a guy is a 4 star or 5 star, then lose to a team with bunch of 3 stars. That is one edge I will give the Big Ten for sure. They try to get the great players, but they focus their programs more on development rather than recruiting. Iowa, Wisconsin, and Northwestern are a few examples of this. Successful programs that focus on development. why put all that pressure on the coaches and players in the recruiting game?
Thats why their is so much cheating in the SEC during recruiting, because every program is trying that much harder to get a player that almost never live up to the hype.
Tell me how many National titles Wisconsin, Iowa, and Northwestern COMBINED have won in the last 20 years? What end of the totem pole has the Big Ten come out on in title games the last 4 years? Watching those Ohio State teams against both LSU and Florida was a joke.
If you want to develop kids and be in the "hunt" for a conference championship, by all means the Big Ten is the place to be. National titles do depend largely upon the difference between 3 star and 4/5 star players.
Thats life.
