I've got a buddy that keeps running his mouth (OSU fan) about the Big Ten. I still cant believe these words came out of his mouth, but he just told me that UF couldnt even beat Wisconsin and that the Buckeyes win by 14. He is throughly convinced that the Big 10 is the far superior conference. Of course he cites the Auburn game as his evidence in slamming UF. Sad huh?

I have the exact same situation to deal with. Except about 100 Buckeye fans.

Actually, to be honest, most people here have admitted the SEC is better, but there are a few I would like to convert to the good side.

B10 people forget that these conferences are more than 3 teams deep. Tennessee has 5 teams in the top 20, B10 has 3. B10 has 7 bowl teams, the SEC has 9!

I have a Wisconsin fan that I work with, and a lot of Alabama and Auburn fans, well the Wisconsin and Auburn fan were talking today and i thought that i was bout to see a fight. the wisconsin fan was talkin about how auburn was scared to play them. hmmmm...i thought u got an invite to a bowl, weird, and then the guy went on to say that Arkansas isn't use to power football. HAHAHA WHAT AN IDIOT

Buckeye fans are almost impossible to reason with unless you mention the fact that Ohio State is the 'greatest of all time' somewhere in your sentence. sometimes they can really give Tide fans a run for their money.

i commend you for continuing to fight the good fight.

In my estimation, Ohio State and Michigan would both beat every team in the SEC... But the SEC is still a better conference.

No way would I agree with that. Even if they were better, for argument's sake, they are not that much better. Michigan struggled with Vandy for 3 quarters this year, as many SEC tams did. UM is not this juggernaut everyone makes them out to be.

Perhaps this is true on paper. But there have been a lot of teams go down in bowl games at the hands of the SEC that should have won. On a good day, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, et al can beat them. IMO

Does anyone really believe Florida will allow 500+ offensive yards and 40+ points against Ohio State?

No team in the SEC I believe would have beaten OSU this year... Michigan I could see losing two.

Even so with the Vandy game... I can't think of a single SEC team that matches up well with them or Ohio State.

That said, we all know all bets are off when we're talking about the national title game.

Absolutely not.

That's what I keep arguing with Big Ten homers on another board... they refuse to believe that Florida's defense is better than Michigan's.

It most likely is.

You think Ginn can break off Florida's secondary?

You can't see a single team that matches up well with them? UF and LSU both have defenses that would do fine against them. These 2 teams go up against just as good if not better athletes in their own practices. I have a feeling sometime during the first half of the NC game, Troy Smith is going to wish some UM players were chasing him around.
